Timing Question

On this forum and elsewhere people generally advise giving 7-10 weeks between sessions (8 weeks as a general rule). I would like to know if, aside from the amount of weeks, there are any other cues we can use to indicate when it is time to have an area lasered again.

For example, I have seen it written that after a session, hair will shed at the 3 week mark, then follows a period of hairlessness, and then regrowth. By the time the regrown hairs are noticeable, most people should be at the 7-10 week window.

So would a good visual cue be the presence of regrown hair? And, if it is, does that mean one should not necessarily wait for the 7-10 week mark, but may judge based on when and how much hair has regrown when to have another LHR session – be it 4-5 weeks after or 12-15 weeks after their last treatment?

My hair grew back faster than expected (5 weeks post), though sparser and thinner, and I am wondering if I should have another session now, or continue to wait a few more weeks.

Thanks.

You generally want the hair to be back for another session. 6-8 weeks is just a guideline each area is different. Legs can be 12 weeks for example. You pretty much want to treat the area, have all hair shed, then grow back completely. It will come back finer at first but after a week or two it will grow in more. I personally would always leave minimum 7-8 weeks before going back as even though the hair may seem to be back, you want it to be coarse not just fine. What are of your body did you treat? 5 weeks seems very fast…

USually around day 7-8 my hair starts to fall out then continues to fall out for a week and then I’m hair free for at least 3 weeks or so before it starts to grow back.

Thanks for the reply. The area is my abs/chest. I went through the shedding, hairlessness, and what I think is regrowth. The hair that is back now is finer and less densely packed together than before it was lasered, so are you saying if I wait a few more weeks that will change?

I suppose if the current hair will coarsen then it makes sense to wait because the laser has a better chance of working. But is that possible? Can a strand of fine hair become coarse during its current growth cycle?

Physicians are least likely to actually perform the procedure, and where they do, they are most often the LEAST qualified person to do it. A person who only does LASER, or who only does hair removal, as in an Electrolysist who also is a LASER Tech would be best.

Why is it rachard, that your posts sound like they are cut and paste from a press kit?

Rachard is a spammer for his/her business, James, don’t you think? Business must be very slow.

I think the same - someone tryes to make a cheap advertisement.
