Time

Hi everyone, progress has been happening. Still working on clearing my face, about half of my face has been cleared. Each week she just recleans any regrowth and branches out. The regrowth is finer and lighter.

However my issue is now the fact I’m not getting my full time.
I pay for a half hour or 45 minutes, but I end up only getting 25 min or 40 min. Usually I don’t lose more than 5 minutes.
Its just annoying when this happens because I want my full time.

I just dont know how to bring this up, I don’t want to start anything because I love my electrologist.

It’s like if my appointment is at 1:00 she doesn’t officially start working on my face until 1:05 and she stops at 1:30 or maybe a minute after then puts aloe on, make another appointment. Like when I do a 45 I only usually get worked on for 40. Does the time I pay for the time she works on my face or the time I am in her office?
She doesn’t set a timer and I don’t want to ask her to because I think it will be awkward.

How should I say it if I don’t get my full time?

Thanks!!

Most electrology practises are sole proprieterships. As small business owners, they are free to set whatever business policies suit their business. It’s possible she is counting lateness, or billing time, or any number of things as part of the treatment time. You could ask her what the reasoning is behind this?

In my own practise, 30 minutes of electrolysis, is 30 minutes OF ELECTROLYSIS. An appointment however, would be for 45 minutes to account for time it take to process a credit card, clean up and change linens for the next customer. Often times I will work beyond this, sometimes well beyond this if the customer is willing to pay for the extra time and I have it ( or I’m jut finishing up an area and need a couple minutes and arent billing for it) . If I need to discuss something with the client mid-treatment, or interrupt a session for any reason, it’s easy at the push of a button to pause the timer. However as consumer, you have a right to know what you are being billed for, and if you arent happy with the value that you recieve for that money, then to take your business elsewhere.

As an electrologist the firm I work for has set these policies for the benefit of the customer, and for us as well. I would say if you dont know what you are being billed for, or arent sure of her policies, ask! Then you set your xpectations and spend your money, accordingly. Transparency, honesty, and integrity, are of utmost importance ina consumer/business relationship.

Thanks so much for your reply. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond.

Yes, I understand the reasoning if I’m late, but this week their client before us ran long, not my fault.

I am happy with her treatment and as long as I see results I don’t want to switch because of this, she is the cheapest electrologist in my area and I do feel she treats a decent amount of hairs during my session, just get confused and annoyed when I lose 5 minutes.

I just don’t want to start anything by bringing this up, but the clock is on the wall and I can tell time.
