Time between treatments

I was thinking for a past week wether to post this or not, and now i finally cant resist. Maybe someone will have the same concern in the future so it may be of reference. My last treatment was on July 23d. That was only my second visit, and second hour. I wish i could do more than hour, but heck, it hurts :) Due to some unforseen family issues, and that mixed with my electrologist overbooked for saturdays which work the best for me, i had to make appointment for august 11. Now its eating me alive. I am affraid that the time space from july 23 to august 11 is way too long, and that i made mistake and that i will have to start all over again. That being told, i havent really noticed any new growth on my upper lip. I think its the mostly bleached hairs coming back brown (or black, whod know?), since i havent bleached from my first session which was around july 16th. I think its easier on her to work when hairs are darker, and now that i have so much less of them, it doesnt even bother me anymore.
I dont intend on repeating such long cycle between sessions, but i truly need someone to tell me everythings gonna be okay. :frowning:

Are you having one hour of treatment - all on your upper lip?

With most techniques/modalities - this is way too long! My opinion, of course! My maximum time on the upper lip is 30 minutes, and rarely will I do THAT long.

The length of time you scheduled between this 2nd and 3rd appointments will not be a hinderance to your treatments. Especially if you are only doing your upper lip. I do like it when clients bleach. The reason it helps me is that I will treat the newly growing hairs - and they are visible because telogen hairs are bleached to the surface while anagen hairs have dark roots. It is important that you do not bleach for at least one week before the appointment so that those dark roots will be visible.

The only time that clients lose ground on scheduling too far apart is when you go months between appointments during the first stage of treatments.

So, Sanny, I can tell you that everything’s going to be okay!

Yes… I am treating mostly my upper lip. Sometimes she will move down to the chin area and do a few longer hairs, but it`s mostly my upper lip. I am happy to say that both times i had no reaction to the treatments whatsoever, only swelling on my left side that lasts for about an hour. No redness, scabing, or anything like it, allthough it hurts like crazy when i do the sessions.
Thank you for the reasurance and telling me that it will be okay. I was truly worried that i messed up.

Sanny,

Did you mention in past posts what modality of electrolysis you are receiving? Flash? Microflash? Picoflash? Blend? Do you know what model of epilator is being used?

I have gone more than 30 minutes on a clients upper lip with little down time for the client, but will usually go between 20-30 minutes only because all the offending hair can be cleared within this time frame.

I think all sounds well for you, exceptionally well!

Dee

yes, an hour is a lot on the upper lip. 20-30 mins is the most that’s recommended at a time.

either way, you really only need to go in when you actually see hair to treat. and after the hair first comes out, it’s ok as long as you treat it within 2-3 weeks after that.
