Thoroughly Miserable

I understand what you are saying about the job market and I feel for you, mallows. I was in the Warren, Livonia, downtown Detroit areas recently and those places are economically blighted basket cases.

This is a real stumper and you sound thoroughly miserable, thus, the title of this thread. After being out last night to purchase a caulk gun (yes, we stimulated the economy), my husband and I were thinking, what recession? The restaurants were over flowing, cars everywhere, the mall area where I was at was buzzing with activity. My point is, and it’s not a very practical or doable one for everybody, you may have to physically re-locate yourself to an area that hasn’t been stung as badly by the recession (depression?) in order to move onward. I’m not thinking in terms of paying for hair removal, but rather in terms of just getting off the ground and moving forward no matter how small the leap.

Full body hair is miserable. How I wish there were easy creams and potions that would take it all away quickly and cheaply for people like yourself. There is nothing like this, but great minds are working on it and perhaps there will be a easy answer someday. Your bigger concerns relate to getting a job. Keep thinking about this and wiggle your way through toward something? anything? that will provide you with some income for now even if you are over qualified. That may mean moving to another area of the country and living with other relatives or friends until you get in a sturdier position. It can be done, but it’s not easy, I know.

Perhaps Mallows would be more comfortable emailing a picture to one of us for evaluation.

If full body electrolysis is desired, perhaps Mallows would like to pair up with on of the people learning to DIY in her area, and they both would win. Mallows would get all over hair removal for free, or very little cost (barter) or they would just trade work on each other.

Just a thought. We have more than one person on here looking for someone to practice on, or trade work with. Most of them report to me that no one takes them up on their posts here.

One of my trainees has even posted on here looking for people to do free work on to get practice and got no responce, even though the offer includes a set up that approximates my office circa 2001.

I wouldn’t mind a free trial! But i’m in england lol.

Mallows you are not alone. I suffer from the same problem, I have fine long hair all over my body… Not only that I also suffer from body acne. I don’t have health insurance and also don’t have anyone in my family that suffers from this so I feel so alone and isolated… I’ve spent thousands of dollars on hair removal hoping my problem would go away but it hasn’t… and I don’t think I can ever get treatment done on all the areas.(neck, upperback, lower back, buttocks, thighs, arms, armpits, and chest) Right now I’m doing the areas that are most noticeable such as face , and stomach. I also hate summer, I literally hibernate over the summer, because I live in California, and most people my age are out in the sun having fun… I haven’t been to the beach for years, and i’ve haven’t worn anything that exposes abit of skin since I started having this problem which was in 8th grade.

My dream would be to have enough money so I can have electrolysis done on all these areas… I even thought about becoming an electrologist myself in the future…

Thanks for all the information and support. The problem seems to be getting worse… which is exactly why I am seriously upset over it. Recently, even though I’ve been taking my medications, it seems that it’s really just not working at all. And what’s really bothering me the most is the fact that facial hair (as in hair on my forehead and eyebrows of all places) seems to be getting worse and spreading. I have a relatively small forehead and it seems to be getting even smaller. It’s quite disturbing because the fine, blonde hairs seem to be getting darker and/or growing longer.
I just really don’t know what to do about that because removal of any kind pretty much makes the problem worse.

Roma18 - That is exactly what I’m talking about! It’s disturbing that you pretty much can’t do anything considered normal, especially in the summer months because the problem is soooo embarrassing. I live in MI, we have tons of beaches here as well, and it’s beautiful in the summer but I do not get to enjoy any of it. And my problem started getting bad in 8th grade as well… that was, oh I don’t know, 10 years ago. I feel like I’ve wasted 10 years of my life. It’s really depressing. So thanks for the words… I know exactly what you are talking about and it helps to know that others understand what I’m talking about.

As for e-mailing a photo… I will see what I can do, but the problem is that I remove the hair (by shaving, and taking a photo of certain body parts may be difficult for me to do by myself). Also, since the hairs are blonde they don’t show up too well in photos. But, like I said, I will try.

Keep going guys!! Dont give up on treatments and trying to get rid of it!! I haven’t even been for a consultation for my hair yet and since joining this website i’m a little demoralised at how long the process of hair removal will take :frowning:

The only thing we can do is to keep going, keep our chins up, (although mine will stay down as my chin is hairy) and keep encouraging each other!! I’ve booked an appointment to see a nurse at my doctors surgery tomorrow, and will ask her what the hell i’m supposed to do.

I’ll report back tomorrow!!

Damn, nurse off sick so i’m going in on tuesday next week :frowning: just my luck :frowning:
