Thin dark body hair - What results can I hope?

Hello everyone,

I am a girl
I plan on doing electrolysis on my face and body.
I want to do my tummy, chest, upper arm, thighs and upper lip.

My hair are more like dark fine fuzz than terminal hair and I never shaved or epilated these hair.

Do you think these kind of hair are easier to treat and that I could be done in 3 FULL clearances spaced from 2 or 3 months?

(Done to me would mean like 80% of reduction and lighter hairs)

THANK YOU in advance

For first clearance for all these areas, a first clearance would take 2-4 weeks worth even with the fastest electrologist, that is, if you can find someone that would sit and work on you for 6-8 hours a day!

You really should pick the area that bothers you the most and concentrate on that area. Then pick the next area to clear and so on.

You can be helped, but it is not always as easy as seeing before and after pictures here on Hairtell. There is a lot that goes on in between that before and after picture.

It is best to interview and sample as many electrologists as possible and stick to a plan. We are all different in our capabilities. We all have different strategies, so checking out the local talent will help confirm what I’ m trying to explain to you about this process. What you are wanting is not as easy as zip zap, bye bye!

Can you post some pictures of your areas? I’m answering this question, using my imagination as to what your areas MIGHT look like, based on the hundreds of people I have seen in my career. Yours may be different? One good thing that you got going for yourself is, you have virgin hair. Thumbs up for that!

The answer to your question is yes, you could have done in 3 clearances, provided that each are spaced at 3 or 4 months, only that this would not be a 80% of reduction , but a 95/99%. Electrolysis not produce lighter hairs, but a completely bald skin.

As said Dee, your biggest advantage is that you have virgin hair, so do not let anyone convince you to wax or shave the area to get everything in anagen, especially when it comes to fine hairs that take months to return to appear. Ask to do a test, and waits several weeks before making a decision. This is convenient for you, and for your electrologist. This would allow you to check the progress of the whole process, skin reaction, % regrowth, etc, and also see if you can tolerate electrolysis in all these areas. Imagine that you make an appointment for several weeks during 6/8 hours each day, and at the end you realize that you can not tolerate even one hour a day. This would be very detrimental to both the electrologist as for you.

Do not rush to book days or entire weeks without knowing what % of reduction you can get. And above all, do not pay for all treatments in advance. It is reasonable to pay a small amount as a guarantee that you will go to your appointment.

Hello!
First, thank you both for your fast answers ! I know it’s going to be a long and painful process but I am so motivated to get rid of these hair

In response to Dee, here are two pictures of my hair.
The first is an area above my bellybutton. My body hair look like this on the rest of my body, but I think it’s the area where the density is the highest.
The second picture is my upper arm

Seeing these picture, how long do you think a first full clearance would approximately take? (don’t be afraid to be honest…)

And do you think the first clearance can already give me a more normal appareance so that I can soon gain confidence? Because these horrible hair make me feel like I’m a monster!

Thank you very much and have a nice day

Josefa’s comments are pure gold. Re-read her post 100 times.

Thank you so much for your pictures! The best way to answer your question about time to clear is to have you look at the palm of your hand. A skilled electrologist, with a good set up, can remove hair on an area the size of your palm in about an hour. You can estimate time using your own hand. I’m talking about the THERMOLYSIS modlaity or the fast blend method only. That is why it is important to check out as many electrologists as possible. Get those consults!

Your hair distribution is nothing out of the ordinary. Many women look like you. You can be helped, hands down, but you need a speedy electrologist who gets down to serious business from the get-go,

All comments I agree with. Somebody like Dee would find your hairs “yummy” in that she’s lighting fast with thermolysis. (I’m assuming you are in the US … not Europe?)

Yes, even in my Hinkel school of (blend) electrolysis, when we had a case like yours, we switched to pure thermolysis to achieve greater speed (for fine hairs like yours).

Funny that very few non-Hinkel graduates know “our little secret?”

“Long” and “painful” are very relative terms. What is long for you? 9 months? 1 year? 10 years?

Hi, Josefa -

I have been watching and admiring your skills on videos, thank you for sharing!

I hope it is okay for me to ask you if you know and could vouch for an electrologist in Germany who can specifically handle very many fine hairs and long hours?

Best wishes from Denmark!

Thank you dee for this simple yet efficient answer ! And it warms my heart to know that many women are like me

To Michael, no I’m from France.
So I won’t be able to test various electrologists because there’s only one cabinet in the country that accept doing big areas but they have a really good reputation so I hope they’ll have all the machines you are talking about

Finally in answer to Josepha I meant long in terms of hours, but I really hope the process will be done in less than a year! Reading you, it seems possible.

Anyway you are right, there’s not many before/after pictures on this website and I’m sure that a lot of people who struggle like me would be warmed to see some.
I have a first appointment in the begginning of february with my electrologist but it will only be a discussion about my medical situation and what I want from her and then I think I will be able to start electrolysis at the end of february.
I’ll make sure to post pictures of my progress

Happy new year to all hairy people and to our angels : electrologists

Happy new year Camille, may all your electrolysis wishes be fulfilled.

There are plenty of electrolysis before/after pictures on the forum, if you look in the right places.

Here are some pages that display them, and there are plenty more I’m sure.

Oh Thank you very Much!!!

Hi Honey, thanks for your kindness.

I think the best person to answer your question is Beate. She attends many events and workshops held in Germany, and therefore she has had the opportunity to meet many of her colleagues. If you had to travel a greater distance to go to her, I’m sure it would be worth.
