Thickining "electrolyized" thin hairs

I’ve been doing electrolysis on the contour line of my beard for the past year. Initially, the line was too low (meaning the beard wasn’t too high). It took me a long time to realize it, so a few months ago, I raised the line by 1/4 or 1/3 of an inch. Now it looks more natural.

So now, some of those hairs that are growing below and near the line are somewhat thin, but still visible. I’m assuming that many of them became thin due to electrolysis. I would like to make them thicker.

  1. Would plucking out (tweezing) each individual thin hair make them grow back thicker and stronger? I know I would have to be careful not to remove the hair follicle root or damage it, but in general, would this be the right way of thickening them? I would be doing this until they become thick enough. Or how else can I make them thicker?

  2. Would plucking out the individual hair interfere with the electrolysis process of permanently removing other hairs (above the line). Meaning can it in any way cause the opposite effect of thickening them? Perhaps more blood flow in the area, etc?

Not sure I completely understand your post, but do not pluck out the hairs in an attempt to “make them thicker.” It’s a gamble. I would guess that you could very well end up with hairs pointing in all the wrong directions (instead of your goal). Probably you are only seeing hairs in their early growth stage … and they appear smaller. Again, don’t pluck:

Okay, so what can be done to stimulate some of the hair to become thicker? I want to thicken hair that has become thinner due to electrolysis. So on some of the hairs, I’m trying to achieve the opposite objective of electrolysis, that is to thicken the hair.

You dont need to do anything. It should happen on its own. Some hairs that are not quite killed with electrolysis will grow back thinner and finer however given enough time the partially damaged papillae will recover and strengthen causing courser hairs to grow. So just leave them alone, and it should return to normal in time.

Is it possible that some of the damaged thin hair will never recover? How would you then stimulate them to grow thicker?

Here’s another question. If I want areas of my beard to have thinner hair (thick hair that has become thin due to electrolysis), how can I know for sure that they will never recover and become thick again? Meaning keeping the hair permanently thin.

Save yourself a lot of grief.

There is little to nothing you can do to influence hair growth … I mean “by yourself.” I only know how to kill hairs.

I’m skeptical of anything (except hormone therapy) that has any influence on hairs whatsoever: thicker or “more in number” … or perhaps smaller and finer.

Still, were you to “go extreme” and try male hormone therapy for thicker beard hairs, you would probably only grow hair on your back and go bald … Lovely!

Just leave the hairs alone … they will normalize (do exactly what they want to do) in time. Be patient lad!
