Thermolysis, Skin Reaction: Pitted Scarring? Enlarged Pore?

Hello Everyone - I’ve been doing thermolysis for a while now but my practitioner recently retired so I tried out a new one. I don’t remember ever having a reaction like this - it looks either like pitted scarring or an enlarged pore but I’m not sure. This was taken within 30min to an hour. What do you guys think?

These pictures were taken an hour after treatment? Do you know for certain that these spots only appeared following treatment?

My first thought is this. When an electrologist allows the current in the follicle to reach the upper layer of skin, the probe can melt the skin at the follicle opening. This can cause an almost “pitted” appearance that should resolve within a few weeks. It can happen occasionally to the best of us, but it’s a very poor sign if it happens on multiple follicles within a treatment.

Hello Thermo - thank you for taking the time respond. And, yes, I do know for certain these spots only appeared following treatment.

Regarding your assessment that this should resolve within a few weeks, would that be fully or partially? also, is that something you’ve observed in others? Is there a possibility this might not resolve?

If it was caused by what I thought, then it should resolve mostly within a few weeks. The best thing you can do is to avoid focussing on your skin for the next two weeks. Wash gently with soap and water as normal, use moisturiser and forget about it. Update us in two weeks with progress.
