Hi, I just thought of my sessions when reading this board about how you shouldn’t feel a sensation similar to tweezing, or it’s being done wrong.
My electrologist would use her probe thingie, and then sometimes pull a little bit to get the hair out where it’d be a little bit painful. Not every hair was like this, but definitely some were, and something in the back of my memory from reading this years ago would tell me ‘uh oh’, but she’s SO nice, and seems very confident like she knows what shes doing, I couldn’t say anything. What does this even mean? Because my areas did clear, but it took a long time. I believe she does Blend mainly.
If it’s just the occasional hair that feels like it’s being plucked, I would not worry about it.If it’s every hair, then that would be a problem or indicate undertreatment. There can be a lot of reason stemming from phase of growth, to missed insertions, distorted follicles and a myriad of other reasons why the odd hair may not release nicely. As long as this is the exception, and not the rule, you dont have much to worry about.

There are a lot of excuses that would explain the ‘tweezing’ sensation but none fits with a proper electrolysis treatment.
Tweezing sensation = +% Regrowth = + Time = + $
Nice to “see” you Josefa. Love that hair equation! So true.
I agree with Josefa, there is no excuse for the tweezing sensation. The tweezing sensation is the result of one or multiples factors: Bad insertions, too shallow insertions, not enough current in fear of creating reactions to the skin or inflicting pain to the client .
The fact is, electrolysis is painful and scabs are normals part of the treatment.
Okay well maybe I’ll finally switch people now :o
