I just need to rant. Somehow I got into looking at different laser companies websites and was on Candela’s. They have all these videos of the show The Doctors and they had a session on hair removal. The woman on there had a hairy back, so they did a treatment with GentleLASE. Immediately after they finished the session, they put up a before shot showing her back hairy, then they show a live shot of her still on the treatment table, completely smooth! They’re all like oh wow and the audience is all clapping. I can’t believe they’d actually show something so ridiculous, not even mentioning she’s smooth because she just shaved the area to have the treatment done! They have a bunch of sessions on that show for even Soprano and other lasers and it’s all the same thing, so dumb! K end of my rant.
DON’T GET ME STARTED!
Oh my gosh, that is ridiculous. I guess the important part is impressing the audience, and people these days are only impressed by instant satisfaction.
shakes head
I don’t watch that show anymore, it’s more of advertisement than anything else!
It’s like “The Swan” The show that sold the idea of surgery to improve your life. They never did the follow up to show how some of the procedures yielded results that were VERY temporary.
hahahaha that is ridic.
This must be a rerun as I remember ranting too about this segment when I saw it last year. I never watch the show, but happen to catch it the day this aired as my client is crazy about this show. I don’t have time to find the thread now, but may try later on.
Haha so funny, I’ve never even seen it on TV it just seems that a) everyone that has Soprano XL has it on their website when the doctors reviews it and b) any laser company that’s been featured on it has it on their home page too!
That’s how I found it, was insane lol.
If the Apilus, Instantron, Careblend and Gentronics corporations want to give me $250,000 each to put on a show, I can get together a season’s worth of shows to feature their products, and the wonderful things they do to change people’s lives as well.
Of course, since they don’t have machines that they sell for $250K each, or even $55K each, I don’t know where they would get that kind of cash to make such a show.
All electrolysis has to show for over a hundred years worth of work is results.
To show something on the doctors cost a little bit more than 250k.
Last i heard it was around 1mil.
I was not talking about buying time on a show, I was more talking about producing one 22 to 26 minute TV show episode. Once you have a show, you can charge the sun and moon for product placements (assuming you have ratings to back up your numbers).
