Terrible thermolysis pain

Hello I’ve had about 4 treatments now to the upper lip with thermolysis and it has been actually painful - the point of jerking and tears coming from my eyes. My practitioner leaves the probe/needle in for about 3-5 seconds per spot and it’s now taking about 45 minutes. I’m totally willing to tolerate pain to have this done if that’s what it takes but after todays treatment (about 12 hours ago) I have blisters on the upper lip, probably about 6-8, some clustered together.

My question is whether or not this should be so painful and if I should be blistering? I’ve been red and briefly bumpy before but not this discomfort.

Upper lip is a very sensitive area and pain tolerance is subjective. You may try applying lidocaine cream before your appointments to help with tolerance. Also are you sure you’re having thermolysis treatments and not Blend?

i do it much quicker than that. May be try different therapists until u find the right one that is right fit for u.

A picture would help.

I just had a client come to me with scarring from upper lip work by some one else. Client has a high pain tolerance which led to it. I used a gold probe, reduced the thermolysis and increased the galvanic which created great lye and slide, no scarring and no burning. Using pain numbing cream is good but it can lead to the electrologist cranking the power up too high if they aren’t careful . Hope this helps,
Basically, slow down
