Telangiectasia probe F3 vs. F4

Hi there.

For facial telangiectasia, I’m seeing the generally recommended needle probe size is .003, however some have recommended .004. Is one particularly more advantageous than the other?

Also, is insulated necessary since the tip it pressing against the skin and not going into it like hair electrolysis? Thank you!

0.03” is slightly advantageous in that it has a sharper point over 0.04. 0.02 is also used for more tiny vessels. Dedicated VBR/telangiectasia probes are non-insulated so you don’t need to worry about insulated needles. You are not going to be inserting the probe 4-5mm deep like you do into follicles. What literature are you using to learn about telangictaisa removal?

I use the F3’s. Never had a problem getting rid of veins big or small.

Thank you. This helps. I just made another post regarding settings and duration for facial Telangiectasia on basic thermolysis devices with manual dials. I have the T-103 from T.E.S.

If you have any advice, I’d appreciate it!

Good luck!! I hope you share your before and after photos!

My understanding is that the needle should not be inserted into the skin but should just touch the surface over the vein.

Because the F3-Tel is pointed, I’m having a hard time not piercing the skin.

Can someone offer guidance?

Hi there. I’m just confused as to why the F3-Tel has a needle like tip which makes it all too easy to accidentally pierce the skin which is what you want to avoid doing.

Wouldn’t a regular F3 tip work better?

Precisely why it is pointed. You are piercing the skin with a shallow insertion and into the blood vessel. The object is to heat up the blood vessel so it becomes cauterized, you do this by moving across the blood vessel like a snake applying it every couple of millimeters. I would read up a little more before you try this out
