I dunno. Regardless of gender, if I had a permanent piece of artwork on my skin, I’d want to be sure that nothing was going to alter it. 
For the record, good electrolysis performed in the area of your tattoo art will NOT destroy the tat.
This is because good electrology does not interact with the ink. The people I have done have had wonderful results.
Just do your homework and find the best person in your area to do your work. Unless the area is very big, you can afford to do the work in a slower fashion so that you get the best results.
