Switching from IPL to Laser? Which laser?

I had my first IPL treatment 4 weeks ago(brazilian and underarms)and after researching it further, am thinking about giving IPL a miss altogether and opting for laser instead. My experience was ok and though painful enough, I only shed about 60/70% and was told that was better than normal?? I am led to believe that 100% shedding is necessary to be effective right? I don’t want to be patchy constantly for the next couple of years. I can’t seem to find information on anyone with permanent results from IPL either.
I am not in a major city so choices are limited, but I have found 2 places that seem reputable. Not sure about prices yet but one place uses Lightsheer duet and the other Gentlelase.
I am type 1 at a guess and have dark brown hair.

Which way should I go?

GentleLASE is best, but LightSheer is ok too. All depends on who uses their machine well. Settings are important.

70% shedding can be due to missed spots. You should be asking for a touchup at the 3 week mark if possible.

60-70% is not so great. Something went wrong (bad settings? poor technique?). These areas usually respond extremely well.

Definitely get a touch-up if they’ll do it. Then switch to laser.
