Reposting this from the other site in case professionals here are interested in taking. Let us know what they have in mind here if you do

"Millennium Research Group (an independent medical device research firm), would like to invite you to participate in a survey regarding hair removal techniques. This study is intended for only those participants who have one or more of the following professional designations: Cosmetician, Esthetician, Electrologist, or who own salons/spas and are familiar with hair removal procedures. In appreciation for your insights, MRG is offering a $50 USD honorarium.

Please also be advised the final part of the survey focuses on questions regarding a potential new hair removal device. We realize that the potential new technique may be very different from the technique(s) that you currently perform and prefer, but we look forward to receiving your opinions in an effort to assist with the development of this product.

If you are interested in taking part in the test survey, please visit http://www.mrgworldwide.com/surveys/HRS/. Thank you in advance for your interest in our research."

This is the survey I responded to a couple days ago. They contacted me by e-mail and offered an honorarium. Not sure if they were randomly selecting hair removal practitioners or if anyone can who removes hair can participate??? The device was ultrasonic in nature? and they asked if I would buy it if it removed one hair at a time or several hairs at a time, and what price I would pay. Also, it was stated that this device would deliver pain-free permanent hair removal on any color of hair. Hmmm. Makes me think… How? I did e-mail the person named “Aviva” and asked her for more information. We’ll see what I get.

Dee

Just checked my e-mail and the survey rep replied promptly! What great people!

"Hello Dee,

The device we’re researching is ultrasound based. Due to confidentiality restrictions, I’m unfortunately not able to give you additional information about the product or provider. If you like, I can forward your inquiry to the client and they will hopefully respond to you shortly.

Let me know if you would like me to do that.

Thanks,

Aviva"

I did request that she forward my request to the client, so we’ll see. This would be a wonderful device if it was truly painless and could treat all colors of hair permanently. So I guess we will stay tuned.

wow sounds amazing, hopefully it’ll work and come out soon!

don’t forget to inform us of when you receive your check in the mail.

I’m holding my breath and marking the calendar Actually, I don’t care about that honorarium, but rather I’m wondering if this is going to be a sham device like the electronic tweezers crap that is still on the market, fooling and bilking people. Still no e-mail from the “client” who commissioned the survey so I can learn more about how it works.

He is extending the invitation for electrologists, etc. to participate, so feel free to do so. I still don’t understand what this new medical device is???

The e-mail just sent to me is pasted below:

"Hello Dee,

Thank you for taking the time to fill out MRG’s survey on Hair Removal. We appreciate your input and the information you have provided have been helpful in our research. Your honorarium will be sent when the project has been completed.

We still have openings in our survey and MRG would like to extend the opportunity for your friends and colleagues to participate in this survey. The link to the survey is http://www.mrgworldwide.com/surveys/HRS/ and respondents must be based in the United States , and be one of the following professional designations: cosmeticians, estheticians, and electrologists.

Only one participant per facility is eligible for this survey, therefore referrals must be to respondents who work at a separate place of business.

In appreciation for their participation, MRG is offering each respondent a $50 USD honorarium. It would be truly appreciated if you could forward the website to your friends and colleagues, or if you could provide me with contacts who would be interested in completing this survey.

Thank you in advance for your interest and for your efforts to aid us in our research. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you,

There are tons of ultrasonic and ultrasound machines in the beauty trade mags here (uk). All I’m going to say about them is that they are now HEAVILY discounted and marketed more for light skin dermabrasion.

Here’s a typical machine http://www.hofbeauty.co.uk/Products/Salo…ate_Ultrasonic/
