I try not to trim above the beard because I want to keep the unwanted hair present, but you can see the reduction. But also important is the quality of the skin has improved a lot. The red pigmentation spots from plucking years ago have reduced and that’s a great added bonus
I’m uniformly noting what seems like a constant in all the electrolysis pictures, it seems the second clearance is when you really see the BIG difference.
Note sure if that’s true percent-wise or just the visual effect of seeing very few hairs
Great pics!
Not always. The areas occupied by a higher percentage of hairs in telogen as arms and legs on men and women, chest, stomach, and abdomen on women, the first complete clearance changes everything, both on the real and visual effect.
Your skin looks very good, Johnson. I can not wait to see the rest of the areas.
Indeed, and you have shown again that it is true that even facial hair can be finished in only a few clearences. I’m glad that I stopped plucking years ago, and so happy that I never have to do it again. It was so painful!
I think I’ll make a thread soon showing all my progress, I must say I trimmed the hair a bit in the summer but now I’m not touching it anymore so when it grows a little more I can show the amazing progress
Except for a few open-minded colleagues, and the boys and girls who have experienced it for themselves, no one will believe us. How many cases we have seen here proving that telogen phase is equally or even more effective than anagen? and yet we continue to read this kind of statement “… the telogen phase hairs will require more treatments. Anagen is where it’s at”.
All you’ll get is someone accuses you of wanting to be one of the “Rock Star” electrologists, conspiring to attract customers from other countries, or invent stories where the protagonists are “imaginary children” because the photos have been retouched with photoshop.
Still, I think all the time spent on uploading photos, videos, etc, has been worth if only one of the Hairtell readers took some benefit from it.
It will be a pleasure to visit your future thread.
After all, no double blind, peer reviewed tests done by the Ivory Tower, or Ivy League Colleges supports your anecdotal evidence that the Orthodox view is incorrect.
You have nothing but your results and happy clients to support your assertions.
You’re right James. There are no studies that support our words, but really happy customers, and thousands of photos that do not need to be retouched to show the results of an Electrolysis absolutely amazing. This man had his first and only clearance at the beginning of last September. Two months later, these are the results of that treatment.
Watch as the old scars of a very severe acne have improved. For many years I live dedicating myself to this, I never cease to be amazed about what you can get with ELECTROLYSIS.

AFTER first clearance. October /29/2013
This work was done with the new probe of Laurier: The 007 which I call "The probe born with a license to kill … with elegance "
You can’t argue with results.
Exactly Gretchen! When almost every day I dedicate myself to sort photos in the appropriate folder, and look at these results, I would scream with pleasure if it was not any of my neighbors would think I’ve gone crazy.
This man has spent five years of his life getting laser treatments on his neck and shoulders. Watch as things were when he came to me. In this photo you can not see a beautiful scar on the right side of his neck from behind, the result of a burn caused by the laser.
BEFORE
2 Months after:
Very nice Josefa. I’ve had a few clients in the last couple months come in to my office with laser burns but no scaring. Scaring that’s bad, do you have a pic of the scar?
Yes, my dear, we have that photo. I’ll look and I’ll upload.
Hi Jossie! Hang on to your Butt!
Folks will say, “laser doesn’t work.” And that will spark the ire of a few staunch laser defenders. Lots of “staunchers” out there in hairland!
Similarly, clients will say, “electrolysis doesn’t work,” and a similar reaction will ensue. What these clients mean is, “laser or electrolysis didn’t work on ME!” And, that’s a valid statement. (It is best, however, to not forget the “me” part.)
Presently, I’m starting a new client from Oregon with an amazing story that will be highlighted on this site at the appropriate time. His laser experience was abysmal. He can say with great certitude, “laser didn’t work (on me).”
He spent two years doing laser (Alexandrite and Yag) at a major university (dermatology department). His hair and skin-type was “perfect” for laser (my opinion: white skin and big black hairs). He actually quit school to work to pay for treatments and spent $8,000. After two years he had nearly zero results.
With some coaxing and legal counsel (from Santa Barbara) he got nearly all his money refunded. (Yes, you can do this!) So, now I’m starting all over again on this poor devil.
I had expected at least SOME reduction, but seriously, I see no more than 10% reduction in a few places. Most of his back looks untouched.
Like all men, this guy “went for” something that would be FAST. He didn’t care about the expense, he just wanted it DONE. Sometimes laser does NOT deliver this promise. Sometimes it takes several years of treatment to get the desired results. And, it’s not inexpensive either.
With elecrolysis, he will be finished in about 9 - 10 months. Of course, all of this will be carefully photo-documented and written into a case history for the benefit of potential clients and fellow zapperettes.
For anyone seeking permanent hair removal? Don’t JUMP into anything! Do some study, and, as has been carefully described on Hairtell, diligently do appropriate “test spots”: and that “goes” for all treatments … electrolysis and/or laser.
Of course, if your operator will give you a REAL money-back guarantee … you could consider moving forward. You would have nothing to lose … except some time?
I guess I’m another “laser didnt work on me” Michael because although I did see a reduction, it was just that, after 11 treatments.I still have a ton of electrolysis to do on my face, and I’ve removed quite a bit already.
Jossie,
That is yet another incredible set of pictures. Very nice work. The density of that mans hair is amazing.I can only ever hope to have your amount of skill.
Seana
Great post Michael. But I do not know if I understand it. I understand that as the most objective person I’ve ever “met” , you are giving the same capacity ( or lack thereof ) to both laser as Electrolysis . However, you better than anyone in the world knows that you can say “laser didn’t work on me” when it comes to laser. With Electrolysis , you should say “electrolysis SHOULD have worked on me”. The aspects that make fail or succeed in both cases are very different. I do not know what these issues are when it comes to laser ( explanations are best left to the experts in this field) , but I know what it is when it comes to Electrolysis , the human factor . I do not buy the story that Electrolysis works in 93 % of cases as advocated by Richard and Meharg in that study of the 35,000 hours of Electrolysis . That 7% of failure was due to some individuals who left treatment because they had to take a bus? do not make me laugh. This is the most crazy I’ve read in my life . People should know that if the Electrolysis not working is because the practitioner is not doing things properly, and that there is nothing wrong with them . And that their follicles are susceptible to being removed as those of the rest of mankind.
Hi Jossie,
I’m talking about a common error that all of us make: going from a specific (experience) and then making broad generalizations. Patients do this all the time. Yes, we humans do this all the time.
All procedures produce negative effects on some individuals. Patients often rebuke and damn an entire industry (or procedure) from this one failed procedure. Some even start websites and assemble other “sufferers” into what ends up looking like “the real deal.” It’s frustrating.
Even within our own minuscule (electrolysis) world we hear suppositions that become “pontifications.” “Oh, I had the XXX method and that method is more painful.” Then later, we hear the 180-degree opposite from someone else.
Of course, people are grappling for answers. And, their limited personal experience is all they have to “go on.” Beginning students (and DIYers) do this all the time: one or two experiences and then they make a “final decision.”
With decades of experience, all these “facts” get blurred out. The right needle? The right machine? The right methodology? The right strategy? The right stuff to put on the face? Well, you get my drift.
After decades of “doing this” I can say with absolute certitude about all aspects of hair removal … “MAYBE … interesting … that could be.” I suppose the more you learn, the less you KNOW?
