Sugaring less irritable than waxing?

I’m going to have my back, shoulders and upper arms sugared on Saturday before I go on holiday to India. The hair is coarse and long. What kind of reaction can I expect to have afterwards? I once tried to shave my shoulders and upper back about 5 years ago and had a bad rash that lasted for a couple of weeks and I’m hoping this sugaring treatment won’t be anywhere near as bad.

Will sugaring be less irritable than waxing and shaving?

Sugaring does not remove hair as well as waxing however, it is a little gentler to the skin. Note that when hair is being ripped out of the skin, you will have some redness and irritation whether it is being done by wax or sugar. After a day or so, the area feels and looks smooth for several weeks.

Make sure the place looks very clean. If not, get out of there.

I’ve just had the sugaring treatment done about 4 hours ago. I had a painkiller before and didn’t find the treatment too painful at all. The worst parts were the shoulder and upper arm.

What should I now do to the area? Is it ok to have a cold-ish shower? Should I put on any aloe veora? When should I start exfoliating with a sponge?

shower is good, (keep the area clean) aloe is good, don’t exfoliate for at least 3 days after treatment.
