Study: Metformin not helpful for hirsutism in non-diabetics

At the 21st Joint Meeting of the British Endocrine Societies on 8-11 April 2002, researchers GT Moleele & NDC Sturrock presented a paper at a symposium on Diabetes & Metabolism:

A pilot study of metformin for the treatment of hirsutism in patients without diabetes

Their goal in the 14-patient study was “to determine whether metformin has beneficial effects on hirsutism in patients without diabetes mellitus.” They concluded that “Metformin is not a beneficial treatment for hirsutism” in that patient population.
