Stopping electrolysis

Hello,

I have been doing electrolysis for the past about 10 months. I went to one lady for about 7 months before deciding that we weren’t getting the results I was happy with and going to some one else. She is better and I’ve seen better results but I honestly can’t take the pain any more plus my face looks awful for about 3-4 days later (redness/scabs ect). I also have developed some discoloration on my upper lip that makes me very self conscious. My questions are what can I do about the discoloration and what it the best way to go from here? I don’t want to mess up everything that was done but I also don’t want to have hair on my face any more. I’m considering doing laser hair removal.

No matter what else you do, do NOT do laser on your face. Laser is likely to give you more hair growth on your face because it can stimulate the thin vellus hairs and turn them into the thick terminal hairs. Look up “laser induced hair growth” or “laser paradoxical hair growth”.

I think that for the discoloration you are referring is probably PIH (Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation). This is the same mechanism that happens when you have acne or a mosquito bite healing. I can’t speak to how to make it go away faster but it is normal.

I agree please do not touch your face with laser!!! i regret it so bad !! If only I joined this forum before starting the treatments
