I have a client who was given steroids to clear a chest infection. She complained of having a metal taste in her mouth and felt that I was pulling/plucking the her upper lip/chin hair and she asked me to stop several times during the treatment(30 mins) as she felt it was so severe. She never complained of this sensation before and I would have been treating her for 6 months weekly 30min sessions. She has fair/ginger hair and would have previously had it waxed. Has anyone else had a similar experience and what advice would you give ?
I can’t address the taste or sensation, but I’ve had women with hair growth spurts after taking (or getting shots of) steroids. This growth appeared as noticeable accelerated vellus growth on the upper cheeks/sides of face.
Point of my response was that there might be some increased hair growth…
