starting treatment tomorrow

After years of debating whether I should go with laser or electrolysis, I have set up an appointment with James tomorrow to finally begin my journey to being hair free via electrolysis. I am at the airport right now waiting for my flight. It took a while for me to take the step but I think I have just been waiting for someone whose skills come highly praised. I will supply updates and pics this weekend for those interested.

Tell James we all said hello. Maybe you can help him shovel snow on your breaks and then maybe he’ll give you a nice discount  .

rh3q won’t be shoveling any snow based on our weather reports. That was already done by me and my Australian client earlier this week. Hey, what can I say, when you fly in from Australia, snow is a treat.

Hmmm… :confused:Shoveling as a tourist attraction… Hmmm, we may be on to something here.

I’d happily shovel snow, infact I’d shovel S**t for a treatment with you James. I only wish my purse strings weren’t tied!

OMG, not JAMES!!! Please tell me you are going to see Obama… what could James POSSIBLY offer you? Free from hair, sure, but what about failed campaign promises? Senatorial seats not quite paid for? Prosperity promised but never delivered?

Oh, if only you had visited Hairtell.com and learned the truth about great electrologists, and learned that there is so MUCH more to life than happiness and hair-free, care-free living…

Seriously, though, great choice, enjoy James! You won’t regret him!

 to quote Sally Field:
You like me.
You REALLY Like Me
(Apparently, you know me as well  )

Many say I look like Sally Field, and I like that, but I never would say something as stupid as that  .

Max, you had me laughing hard about the shoveling S!*##. I like you! I REALLY, REALLY LIKE YOU!

Just trying to keep the forum a little upbeat, a few laughs makes all the difference some days, Dee. Anyway what is there not to like about me…I’m just perfect, except for the hair of course!

Just to update everyone. I flew in to meet with James on Thursday about 8:45pm. James picked me up from the airport within about 15 min of me calling. As soon as I met James I felt at ease. He is a very affable and funny person. James was kind enough to set me up with a room so we headed back to his office/home base and after a quick tour we sat down and chatted for about 1.5 hours about electrolysis in general. Needless to say James is a virtual encyclopedia of knowledge on electrolysis, among many other things, and it was great to get the extensive overview of electrolysis that he gave me. BTW after seeing the quality of the equipment that James had I had no doubts that I made the right decision. Lets just say, as James joked, what every other electrologist would have spent on ambiance and decoration, James put into his equipment. I was hooked when he gave me a demonstration of the scope he used vs. the “magnifying glass” that most electrologists use. After a preliminary treatment I was off to bed. I slept like a log, the select comfort, is the real deal  .

Friday morning we went out to breakfast then a quick tour of the city of Buffalo. James gave me a nice lesson on the history of many of the buildings downtown and really impressed me with his knowledge. We then headed back and began work. OUCH. James explained that he would have to use a higher treatment energy the night before but for some reason it felt worst than the initial treatment. After showing me how curled my hair was, like the letter C, I sucked it up and watched a movie that James had popped in.

About a half hour in I had to take a pain pill  . After that each hair treatment felt like a roller coaster ride and although it wasn’t pain free it was bearable and I was able to finish the movie. Close to 2 hours in and I took a look in the mirror and it was amazing how much was already cleared. My face felt a little swollen and numb but I felt no pain at all. I popped another pill and we were off again with another movie to pass the time. At the end of the second movie I took another look in the mirror and James announced that we were all but done. Wow what a difference, my cheeks and Jawline were completed cleared of all the thicker hairs, just the small thin hairs were left which I was fine with. After about another 10 minutes of James making sure everything was complete I was done. Total time about 3hours 10 minutes not including the breaks.

I felt surprisingly great after the treatment, no lingering pain or soreness at all. Because I have very sensitive skin, I expected my skin to feel sore and raw. Not at all, except for some swelling and a little numbness, I felt normal  .

We finished sooner than expected so I headed back to NYC that same night (Friday). Before I went home I bought some tea tree oil which I applied right before I went to bed. I slept late Saturday and woke up expecting hyper-pigmentation, scabbing and soreness because I tend to sleep on my side. But when I woke up except for a little numbness I couldn’t tell I had anything done. I went to the mirror to check and except for the swelling which James said would take about 2-3 day to disappear, my skin looked normal except for some slight redness. Now that is skill. No hyper- pigmentation no scabbing, nothing.

I have another appointment in about 6 weeks and James maybe in NYC :D. For those that are still unsure of electrolysis I can confidently say this has been the best decision I could have made because my fears of hyper-pigmentation and scarring have been eliminated and I am on the only true path to being hair free with a highly skilled and competent electrologist.

Wow sounds like you guys had had fun! Your just so lucky to be able to be treated by the best…good luck and keep us updated!

Dear rh,

Thanks for your complete report on your hair removal time with James. Those are pictures that you really can’t replace with words to describe what good outcome is supposed to look like. Absolutely artful and beautiful work, dear James. I want one of those beds, too!

Maxine, do you see what should and can be a fabulous healing outcome for your chin if all is done correctly with good vision and epilator equipment in the hands of a professional electrologist? We know you have are still trying your best to get this just right for yourself. A whole community of electrologists can change things up if they just had a little more continuing education from the right source.

I have been treated by James and had the exact same experience, he is just wonderful to work with!

However, I am a bit disappointed to hear he still hasn’t had the marble floors put in the office yet

You know, All I got for my birthday and the holidays were more #7 jerseys, calendars, cologne, and a new inactive pole for my machine.

No one came through with the Grecian Marble Tiles, and although I thought this would be the year that someone sent me the waiting room water feature, I am still left with only my oil paintings and hair cross section photos.

Oh, well, at least the hair removal is top notch.

I will give it to our poster. He sure doesn’t miss details. Out of all these years, no one has ever thought to mention that the guest suite has a Select Comfort Sleepnumber Bed. Not even the client who raved that it was the best sleep that client had had in ages, and was way more comfortable than the last few hotels that person had paid for. I guess it is the little things that count.

I have frequently said here that my clients always notice the difference between a gold probe and a stainless steel probe.

In this case, I did the preliminary treatment with a gold probe, and the next morning we went to a more flexible two piece stainless probe that was smaller than my beloved Ballet Gold Size 6.

The good news is as we work more, the treatment setting will go down, and I will stick to the gold from here on out.

As frequently happens, once a poster gets what they want (good information and great treatment) they forget to come back and keep you all posted. I will just say that we had several treatments that were not discused on here, and the skin color problem is now in check and the ingrown hairs are few and far between now.

This client now reports zero ingrown hairs, and even toned skin.
Another success story.

Taking notes…
