I want to be hair free in a year max. I’m going to be dedicated to go at least 3 times a week. I mainly want to do my whole upper body. I will evenutally do my legs, but its my upper body thats a pain.
I’m starting my stomach today. Just a small portion.
I can’t take pain so I bought LMX, but it was only five grams, so I’m only doing a portion. It’s LMX 4%. I was reading on here that people use 5%, is there really a difference?
Next target areas are my back, rest of my stomach, my upper lip, sideburns, and underarms(which I had previously done, but theres still some lfet).
I’m not crazy hairy, but this hair really does bother be.
For my back its mostly the line down the middle.
I can’t wait to be hair free.
Is this practical to finish everything in a year if you are dedicated?
It doesn’t hurt to go 3 times a week, but I would say the answer to your question about being finished for all these areas in ONE YEAR does not sound practical.
Time frames are important to people I know, but if you want to be truly hair FREEE, you will change your thought processes about approaching your hair removal goals and see this as a process that gets you closer to being hairfree everytime you show up for your appointment.
I would pick one area that bothers you the most and focus on getting that area cleared pronto! Then I would go onto the next area, while maintaining any new growth that comes to the first area. And so on down the line…
I would choose a practitioner that performs microflash or flash thermolysis skillfully and speedily.
If you were talking about one area only, a years committment would be attainable depending on the density and structure of the hair.
Don’t set yourself up for disappointment by thinking you will be hair free in a year for all these areas. It’s not good for your mental health.
You will need to be dedicated, and working with a practitioner who has the speed, and equipment to make 3 long treatments a week in the beginning a realistic option. Find that person, and your next problem will be finding enough time in that practitioner’s schedule. I would suggest prebuying your blocks of time.
Needless to say, OUCHHH, that hurt so bad. I could only do 30 minutes because the pain was unbearable.
I used LMX 4% and I still felt it on my stomach. Also, my practicioner said that its because the hairs are stubborn, so she had to zap them many times to pull.
UGHH, I just want to do this and be done with it. But it hurts so bad. I’m wondering if I put enough cream on, or if I did something wrong. It didn’t feel numb, but I’m not sure if it was numb because I don’t know how it feels without it.
I’m gonna try to take the pain, but it hurts greatly.
When people say they feel pain, they really haven’t felt it before.
Does anyone have any tips to take your mind off the pain? I tried music, but that really didn’t work.
I’m gonna try crazy loud music next time. My next appointment is on Wednesday. I might go more than 3 times a week to make up for that I’m only going for a 1/2 hour, but I’m going to try to work on that.
yes, as it helps with hydration, however, one wants to make sure that one showers in chlorine free water. There are many good filters on the market for as little as $60 and a yearly cost of $40 to replace the filters. Once one starts using that product, the skin will soften, and the hair will be healthier.
I am not really sure on what method she uses, but I am going to ask her next time. What are the diff methods and which one is the best?
She just puts the needle in me, and then tweezes the hair, I don’t know if you can tell which method it is just by that.
If she does it more quickly I think it helps with pain too.
Whatev, I guess I’m going to just have to take the pain…
What’s better, EMLA or LMX, or are they the same thing?
I wish it really numbed the area…
Before I got shots for my underarms because the pain was excruciatinggg. And the worst I have experience.
I’m gonna do a little bit everyday, and hopefullyy, I will be done in my time. The reason for deadlines is I relaly want to get my life back and started. But I’m going to try my best to do what I can.
EMLA 5% applied as thick as cake frosting works well. Occlude the area with plastic wrap and tape. Leave it on for 1 1/2 hours and I think you will see a big difference. EMLA requires a doctors prescription or you can get it online through a Canadian pharmacy.
I am not a fan of using neosporin after electrolysis. Showering is okay. Use witch hazel, aloe vera or tea tree oil would be better in my opinion.
Hi,
I personally use Duocaine from canadadrugsuperstore.com it’s pretty good. I find it works just as good as the Tridocaine I used to buy, and the price difference allows me to use it effectively thicker. The only big difference with the Tridocaine is that the Tridocaine gives a quicker mild relief within about 10 minutes due to the benzocaine. But if I’m applying it 45 minutes ahead of time anyway, it’s not an effective expenditure of extra money.
One thing you’ll find is that all parts of the body have their quirks and painful/not so painful zones. I think back is very easy to tolerate, stomach too. Where I had the most degree of discomfort was right on the bone protruding from the ankle, right in the middle of the crease behind the knee, outer side of the knee, and the inside of the thigh. But areas can change. Sometimes these areas didn’t feel bad at all. Feet/toes used to hurt alot, pretty bad, but I just did them the other day with no numbing of any type at all and it was no big deal. Alot has to do with timing your numbing/painkilling medications, coffee avoidance/general excitement levels, and state of mind.
Be advised that legs take awhile. Most electrologists see legs as quite a mountain of achievement. Most like doing legs if you stick to your appointments, it gives them an hour to spin freely after the more careful facework clients. The thing about legs is that it doesn’t dawn on you just how many little areas there are on the legs until you actually attempt to completely clear them. It’s a true race to get to hairs before their cycles cease their growth. Three times a week and you’ll do okay. After a while, when the hair thins and goes away, you’re going to be so happy. It’s the rare fruits of a lot of kept appointments, cash, and suffering. Like Renoir said, ‘The pain passes, but the beauty remains.’ I always wonder at the number of individuals that have had their legs entirely cleared. Is it in the thousands? Ten thousands? I know what it takes, the effort and the time, and I just wonder at how many others have also done it successfully.
I am so dedicated right now. My next appointment is on Tuesday, and I got EMLA. The part of my stomach that I cleared, which wasn’t that much, but it looooks amazinggg. OMG, I can’t wait til its practicallly completed.
I’m thinking about going 5-6 times a week. I want to finish this fast, and I hope it won’t take that long. My legs aren’t that hairy so I’m glad, like the front of my leg has hair, but like the back of the thigh and calve are very minimal.
Thank God for creating electrolysis.
I’m gonna have her do multiple areas and then see how it goes. 2 weeeks she said was when you should come back to the session that I did. So if I go 5-6 times a week, yes she probably will get sick of me, but love it at the same time. This is gonnna cost thousands, but you know what, it’ll probably be the most worth it thing I have ever invested in. I can’t wait to show off my body.
And I heard that emla was bad for you, so I’m definetly going on a cleansing diet to rid me of that. ANd hopefully down the line, I won’t even need the Emla and maybe I can take the pain!
All Anesthetics have a certain toxicity. That is after all why they work. As long as one doesn’t use them too much, or too frequently, one should be ok.
AND having said that, it is a wonderful thing when one can have a treatment comfortable enough that one doesn’t even use that stuff at all.
I will probably use it 5-7 days a week? That’s bad isn’t it??!!
I am doing my stomach and some areas hurt like hell, and other areas hurt but I’ve learned to take the pain.
I wonder how the arms feeel.
She has a spray that she sprays on to numb it kind of, it doesn’t really work, but it helps so much, maybe its all in the mind, I dunnno, but it makes me handle it better.
I seriously am like fed up with having hair, and I want to rid it as soon as possible.
I’m thinking about going 5-7 days a week, each day for 1 hour. I’m starting my stomach, then I think I am going to do my back, then arms, then the facee.
My legs are not that bad and I think I can deal with shaving for now, but definetlyy not something that will kill me. I will do it with electrolysis thoughh!
So I am doing my stomach and I did a nice portion, I was thinking about doing my arms at the same time?
Should I just clear my entire stomach first and then focus on something else? Or do different things at once??
I have two appointments this week, and I’m going to let my electrologist know that I need to come everyday. the only problem with that is showeirng. So I might be limited it every other day.
Showering is fine any time. I don’t know what the rationale is behind discouraging someone to shower post electrolysis??? Don’t use a nubby washcloth, loufah or buff puff. Some clients like using Dial soap and some use a milder soap. I don’t think it matters.
Hospitals use dial for keeping wounds clean and safe from infection. A true glycerine soap (not just with a touch of it, but pure glycerine and nothing else) would be goood as well. Castille soap is a find product as well.
If any of the hair is dark and coarse (except face), you should consider laser for those parts. Sounds like your legs would definitely be in that category. You can knock out a lot of hair with good laser treatments before finishing with electrolysis if you still want to get rid of the finer sparse hairs that will remain.
It’s good that you’re being dedicated. But you’re treating a lot of areas, some large areas, so keep in mind that the 12 month mark is the time it takes AFTER you get to your first clearance on an area and then continue to kill all the hairs that show up on schedule.
I got my underarms done for $500 total with laser (5 treatments), which knocked out 95% of the hair there. Then, I finished with electrolysis since I was already going in to treat other areas with fine hair anyway.
