start of a looong journey!

Okay so today I met with two electrologists in San Francisco. Both of them were nice but the second I felt a better connection with and her office was very nice. I came across her on Yelp (Her name is Vera Weiler) where 5 out of 5 stars were given to her from 13 different people! She shared a lot of info, pre-care/after care, her papers showing her certificates and she uses disposable needles. She is very caring and sensitive but still very upbeat and energetic! She has two different doors so the person leaving wont have to be uncomfortable if anyone is in the waiting room!

So I just want some input. She uses thermolysis and blend but not pico or micro flash. I asked her about it and she said she doesnt use it because although its faster and cant be felt as much by the client, there is a chance it might not work as well so she’d rather just stay with the thermolysis that she knows and trusts. Does this sound right?

Besides that, all the other stuff she informed me about I felt like I’ve learned from this website.

Oh and she does 15 minutes max per AREA to avoid swelling for the client. But she said she will do multiple hours for a client in different areas, so like I could do 15 minutes on my upper lip, 15 minutes on lower lip and 15 minutes on chin (etc.) in one appointment.

Her prices sounded pretty good, 15 minutes = $40. 30 = $57 and so on.

any feedback would be appreciated!

From what I understand, all modalities of thermolysis have the same kill rate. Blend has a slightly higher, but the speed is so much slower (please correct me if I’m wrong).

Skin outcome is far worse when using traditional thermolysis compared to Flash let alone Micro or Pico and I have found this out through personal experience as well. I found that on my lower kneck, after having 15 minutes (out of a 30 minute session), had a lot of redness and some scabs.

She sounds like she’s clued up otherwise, it’s just unfortunate she hasn’t seen the benefit of what Micro or Pico could do for clients.
Is there any other electrologists you could go get consultations with? The best idea is to see as many as possible so that you have as much information/experience as possible.

Benji

thanks! I have another apointment set up for next week, and i’m still doing some research!

she was very nice and sounded like a good choice. she said if there was any excessive redness during treatment she’d stop right away to avoid bad reactions. So on that level i feel like shes honest and wants the best for the client. So although I’m still looking, I liked her and her outlook on things!

and i dont know enough to say whether or not what she told me is true about the pico vs. trad. thermolysis :]

Anyone else had a back experience with traditional thermolysis?
