spacing out appts and other stuff

Hello,

I went in for a consultation today and the lady was very nice and professional. My only issue is every time I asked her to set me up with a schedule, her reply was always, “Come in whenever you want.” As a newbie this is awfully confusing. I’m thinking I’ll go in once to get a full clearance (She says she can do this in 2 hours…she uses thermolysis) and then go in once a month for 15 minutes. She says it’ll take about 15 minutes to get rid of whatever comes back. Just wanted some input from the experts…does this sound about right?

I’ve included photos…the hair I’m getting rid of is on my forehead, the pretty obvious vertical patches in front of my hairline. I am female, 20 years old, and I’ve been waxing/threading it for the past 5 or so years, if that info helps.

Also, her pricing seems a little steep to me…160 for a full hour, regardless of hair/skin type.

Thank you!

The ‘come in whenever you want’ remark sounds like an open invitation for a money pit. 160$ is very steep for just one hour (I can pay 1/2 that)… If youd like my advice dump her and find a different one.

I think come in whenever you want is close to whenever you need. Some people should space their appointments longer to get the most out of it - but if they are really worried about their hair it makes sense for them to go more often.

As for price, if they do a good job - it’s priceless  It’s worth what you feel comfortable paying. If you can’t afford it, find someone cheaper, bear in mind - they may or may not be better.

It is up to you.

$160 per hour is robbery! Still, if she will give you a nice written guarantee of the work (time and MONEY), that might not be a bad choice!

I just raised my fees to $80 per hour and there is NO EXTRA charge if local anesthetic is required (or other medications that the doctor sees as necessary or beneficial!

Thanks for the input!

I do agree, its steep. She did a good job, but being a greedy ol’ human, I want to aim for cheap and effective :stuck_out_tongue:

I found a new one in the area who charges 55 for an hour, hopefully it works out!

Everyone talks about dollars per hour.
Its a meaningless figure.
How many hairs per dollar is the useful figure.

Yes, James, it is meaningless for comparison purposes.

I hate it when the first question asked of me on the phone is how much I charge. If people would go get consults they would see there are vast differences and that the $160 per hour electrologist is slower or more painful than the electrologist on the other side of the city, who is more efficient and charges $60 per hour. That $160 / hour zapper must have very high overhead expenses. Is her office located in Buckingham Palace?

ThehighestI’ve head of was $120 anhour. And that person was in alaska, where the average bag of milk will cost you $15.$160 is, well, alot. They better be REALLY quick for that amount.

Some zappers are worth their higher prices because they are efficient. Others not so much.
