A while back I saw a newspiece on a newer laser called the Soprano. I think that’s the spelling. Anyway, it claims to work on all skin types and colors. Ever African Americans. I’m interested cause I tan on a regular basis and would want to continue laser treatments with this Soprano. Any truth to this claim?
No
Why would you say that?
The Soprano XL is an amazing machine but the advertising is probably a little over the top.
Sure you can use it on skin type 5 and 6 but then you will have to lower the settings and you’ll be better off with a YAG.
About tanning, it’s also not a smart idea cause you might end up burning yourself, but that’s the case with any laser machine.
The good things about this machine is that it’s fast, and you don’t feel it much, for most people around skin type 3 they shouldn’t feel anything.
It’s not that new. It’s a diode laser. No, it’s not good for tanned or black skin. Every marketing ad for every laser will say that, but it’s not actually true. Yes, you can use any laser on any skin type, but you would have to use such low settings on certain types that it won’t produce any results.
For dark skin, you need a Yag laser ONLY… HOWEVER, it’s recommended not to tan at all. It’s basically NOT in your best interests. If you want to get the best results for your money, you should keep your skin as light as possible during treatments because then they can use high enough settings to actually kill the hair. If you don’t do that, the clinics will be “safe” with you and you may get very mediocre results.
