some info on blend?

well my silhouet-tone st-100 came today. Very nice looking machine,(bigger than it looked in the pics!) anyway, I also ordered the book “Electro-epilation - A Practical Approach Second Edition” but it has yet to arrive. I would really like to start learning right away. Is there any information online for some specifics on the blend technique? i have searched on these forums and found a little info. wanting to kill very course hair in the pubic area. from what little i’ve found, the “pulsing blend” technique may be best for this? I realize all machines and bodys are different but any general info and perhaps some configurations for a starting point would be much appreciated.

ST 100 has no preset programs, just time/intensity for each method. The machine’s parameters are:

galvanic - from 0.5-1.0 mA intensity and time from 1-20 secs.
thermolysis - from 0.5-30 intensity and time from 0.01-10secs.

thnx in advance for any help.

It’s not possible to teach the blend method online but I will say, that you have to start low and ease on up. Start with the the AC high frequency current first. Determine how many seconds it takes to get the hair to release with thermolysis (HF) and then add the DC (galvanic) current, which is determined by the size of the hair you are treating. The book you are going to receive should have a units of lye chart. You have to “blend” the currents together, well, so you can tolerate the sensation and not overtreat the skin. I would first do a ton of insertions without any current until you can perfect that part.

This will be difficult and you will feel very clumsy at first. It would be good to get a hair buddy so you can learn together and practice on each other.

Pick up a copy of “The Blend Method” by Michael Bono (if you haven’t already), it is invaluable in learning the blend (and electrology in general.) You can get it at T.E.S. www.texaselectrolysissupply.com

thnx for the info! unfortuneatly, i have some experience with insertion, i got scammed by one of the handheld crap units when i was a teen.
Well, on a brighter note, my book arrived today!! so nice to finally have actual details! finding info on actual electrolysis methods is like getting info on a murder that the mob committed LOL book is very informative.
i still have a question tho…the book lists needle sizes as 002,003,004 etc. the needles that came with my machine are L1 and L4. is this the same as saying 001 and 004?
also, the L4’s seem to be about the right size for my hairs. however, all the L4’s are insulated. I’ve read that insulated are not so good for blend. the L1’s are non insulated but they are smaller than the hair , i assume i should order some non insul. L4’s or 004’s instead of using an insulated probe or one that’s too small? --thnx

Gold is better for blend, but some manufactuer’s make insulated probes just for use with the blend. You can use insulated for blend, but may need to discard after a certain amount of time and replace with a new probe as the material may start to disinegrate.

What brand are these probes? Size one sounds way too small for use as a newbie. Size 4 may be fine. The “L” may stand for long as opposed to “S” for short? I would order some gold probes to match the diameter of the hair you are targeting.
