Some help please - sterex epilators

I need a little help with buying epilator. I decided to buy sterex sx-g epilator, because I could’nt find used sx-b, and I can’t afford a new one. Does anyone know what else I need to buy, when I purchase Sterex sx-g? I got confused, because in sx-g product descripstion they say - This unit can be used with a footswitch and unswitched needle holder, but complete package includes switched needle holder. So do I have to order unswitched needle holder and footswitch as well?
And what size of needles are coming with the epilator? I quess I need 5 or 6 regular length needles for bikini hair?
Is there something else I need to buy?
Thank you very much for your help!

I think it means that, instead of pressing on a footswitch to release the current, you press a switch on the needle holder.

If you don’t feel comfortable doing that you’ll have to buy a footswitch and a regular needle holder for the job. The Sterex website lists a few reasons why this might be preferable.

I’m not sure what needles come along with the epilator, so you’ll have to ask them.

What magnification will you be using? Personally I find it hard to use a size 5 needle without very good magnification. Usually 3 or 4.

Hiya,
have you checked ebay uk for used sterex sx-b. There are always a few for sale and they normally sell for 350-450 gbp. You can always send it to Sterex for service if the seller doesn’t have the service history.
Good luck!

Thank You for Your response. I haven’t thought about magnification jet, I hope I can find something from here Estonia. I have to order the epilator to my friends place in England, and when she comes home, she can bring it to me.
What kind of machine are you using and how are the results?

Hi, thank You for Your response. I checked e-bay and I just missed one good offer. I’am a little afraid to buy used one, because I live in Estoina and I can’t use Sterex service.

to be frank, I have worked with sterex for 8 years now and never needed any repairs on the actual unit. I like to have it serviced once a year just to be on the safe side. The check the callibration and pat test it and send it back. It has always been the leads for the needle holders or the foot switch that have needed replacing if I accidentally damage them.
I got a used one about a year ago for home use on family and friends and it’s working fine. If you go for this option, choose a newer one maybe. There is never a guarantee if the seller is honest as to how much use it’s had. If you have friends in the UK, get them to receive it for you, send it to Sterex for service and then post to you.
However, you would have the same dilema if you get a new or used one. Any good electric engineers friends in Estonia might also be able to help you maintain it. Sterex customer service is very good as well. They always talk you through a few checks over the phone if you have a problem. You can even speak to one of their engineers.
These are things I would do if I was to go abroad. Obviously, you know your situation best.

I bought a used Apilus Cleo Blend 256 from Spain but I used an escrow service, so I was able to make sure it worked (by asking an electrologist here to test it for me) before I released the payment.

For magnification most people use surgical loupes or magnifier clip-ons, but if you’re working on your leg hair (particularly lower leg) you might find that your regular glasses are just fine too.
