I started electrolysis a few years ago for my shoulders and neck area. I stopped because the electrologist that I was going to would take phone calls on her blue tooth while she was working on me and would not work as fast during the phone call - her concentration and speed were noticeably compromised, she would even stop sometimes. When I am paying $80.00 an hour I feel like she should not be doing this.
After two hours that area would still not be cleared.
Would anyone be able to recommend an electrologist in the NJ area? Specifically Central NJ. I would also be willing to drive a bit for someone who does an amazing job.
Awesome thanks James! Would you recommend blend for the area that I will have treated? I’m not sure what the electrologist was using when I was going a few years ago. I didn’t ask because I didn’t know any better.
Paying $80 per hour for someone to interrupt your time on the table by answering the phone is a true rip off, unless she would make up for that time lost by going longer. Interrupting a session can mess up the level of sensation ones feels. It can hurt more to stop then start again on an area. I’m glad you are choosing someone else and I hope you matter of factly told the previous electrologist why you are moving on.
Blend is fine. It will work well. I reserve blend for mole hair, some eyebrow work, some digit work or when there are less than 20-30 hairs on the chin. Otherwise, I use a faster form of thermolysis for larger areas. It hurts less according to client feedback and an area can be cleared and maintained from start to finish. Clients want the hair off fast and when they get what they want they get their hope back and feel better about themselves much sooner.
If the new practitioner is adept and comfortable with the modality she uses and doesn’t jump like a gerbil to answer phone calls while she’s working on you, then be happy.
