Hi. Just curious what your alls opinion of my skin type is. I’m going in for laser and was told they will use gentle last with 18mm 18joules. From the paper work I filled out it was determined I was in between II and III. First picture is my arms, other is my thighs. Thanks!

Why don’t you refer to Fitzpatrick chart and calculate your score? Skin types are not exact. While determining your skin type, you need to consider your ethnicity and response to sun exposure too.
You are definitely not more than skin type III. You should do fine with GentleLase. Those settings are very good. Have a patch test before going ahead. All the best!

Thank you for your responses. I had my whole body layered last week and she started with a 16j setting. Next time will be at 18. I was pretty pink, light red for a couple of days but I wasn’t burned. Also, on my sensitive areas which are my chest and face, she used a device that sucks the skin up in this clear plastic plate thing and she shoots the laser threw that. She said it was up to me if I wanted to use it or not, and of course I wanted it because the pain was so much less. This helped with the pain on my face it was a difference of night and day. She said the reason why it doesn’t hurt as much is because it pulls the skin or hairs away from the nerve endings. she said to come back in 3 weeks and she will touch up anything she missed for free. She spent a good almost 3 hours and did very good over lapping and I did not feel rushed at all. Much better than the place I used to go to that woulda go past a 12j setting. I’m happy!!!
16J on GentleLase is good for skin type III. You might not want to go higher.
