Sigh...

I’ve been working with an electrologist for about 4 months now. At first, she was working strictly on the upper lip and I have experienced a good degree of reduction of hair in this area. However, she seems to feel that once the darker hairs are done, she is finished with the area. Not exactly the best solution for someone who is doing this as a part of transition.

I guess that it is time to start seeking another practitioner…

You can’t treat what you can’t see. Just another reason people arrange to see me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Hi Joanie:

It has taken me over 3 years to get to the state where I am in my facial hair removal.The last tome I went it took about 1/2 hour to clear my entire face, from cheeks to bottom of the neck. It would be quicker, except the remaining hairs are now harder to find.

It is up to you to let your electrolygist know that just removing the dark ones is not good enough, and that you also want any thicker white or grey ones removed too.
Let her know that you need full clearance, and you are the customer.

Hi Alicia,

I know that I have to inform my electrologist that just getting the dark hairs is not sufficent and I have been trying to get her to move into the lighter hairs as well. At my last appointment, I even gave her some insulated probes to work with and brought her my;

To use, but she prefers to use her;

Also her light source is an old style dual 20-watt flourescent swing arm desk lamp.

Sigh…The problem is, I really need to get an electrologist with better equipment. I really do not want to go across the Bay for work, but I’m afraid that I will wind up doing this. I guess that if I take BART over, it will not be too expensive to travel, but electrology on the other side of the Bay is quite a bit more expensive per hour as the cost of doing business is much higher than on my side of the Bay.

Hi Joanie:

Her glasses look like those old 3-D glasses they used to give you on the back of the corn flakes box!

I agree that she probably could use something better, and if you are letting her use yours, it wouldn’t hurt her to give it a try.

Maybe you should let her know the options as far as you might have to consider going elsewhere. It is important for you to get those lighter colored hairs cleared.
