Side effects from brazilian laser hair removal

I have had 3 treatments of laser, candela gentlelase on brazilian area.
Since having it I have felt sore and uncomfortable, evenually leading to having to see my doctor.
She has told me to leave off the laser as it could be burning me.
I was wondering if any one else has similar experiences.
I also had bruising on my legs that are still there slightly, so now i’m thinking that laser may not be for me, Maybe my skin is just to senitive.

The settings are too high for your skin type if there is pigmentation. What settings are being used? What specific side effects are you seeing on the bikini area? How long is the area sore? Any other side effects? Are you using a numbing cream? What does your clinic say?

The first and second time the settings were on 18 on the last visit they reduced them to 16. thats all i know.
I dont use numbing cream and the last time most of the thigh was ok except a patch about the size of a thumb.
it welted up so she put ice on it and now i have brown marks there like when you fall and have a graze and it turns from red to brown when it heals.
she said to see how we go with these settings.

16 should be better. 18 are pretty high. hopefully your skin is not tanned at all. sounds like you got a small superficial burn, so decreasing the settings a bit should help.

What is the normal setting for this type of laser.
I read through your information pages and everything seems to be happening as you say.
the hair sheds between 2 and 3 weeks then i get the hair free period before it starts to show again.
The last time on my brazilian area underneath seemed red and sore so i just wondered what the mimimum settings would work to enable to still get the hair reduction but without any side effects.
everything seems fine now so maybe it wasnt the laser maybe it was something else and just coincidence.

on 18mm spot size on GentleLASE, the max setting is 20 joules. anything above 14 joules is effective usually.
