Side-effect of medications: Hair Growth

Searched for this topic on hairtell and hairfacts, but could not find specifics.

As a result of another post, I looked up some medications that were “said” to cause hair growth, and could not find evidence in the medication documentation listed on the internet. An ad for alternative to one medication said that hair LOSS was a side effect in up to 1% of users…so, obviously there is contradictory information out there.

I would like to see a listing in one thread that has the real and anecdotal side-effects (hair growth causing) of medications. Links to the outside sources would be really beneficial to the thread, IMHO.

http://www.hirsutism.com/hirsutism-causes/drug-induced-hirsutism.shtml

A list from this site:
* Danazol (Danocrine)
* Norplant
* Metoclopramide (Reglan)
* Anabolic steroids
* Methyldopa (Aldomet)
* Phenothiazines
* Progestins
* Reserpine (Serpasil)
* Testosterone
* Oral contraceptives (OCs) that contain levonorgestrel, norethindrone and norgestrel induce more powerful androgen activity, while those that include ethynodiol diacetate, norgestimate and desogestrel have lesser androgenic activity.
* Some drugs that also result in hyperprolactinemia can also cause hirsutism.

I was hoping to find the Hair Route listings…but I did find this:

http://www.hairroute.com/consumer/consumer.html

At the bottom of the page, there appears to be a link to the listing I was looking for, but it requires a login - and I sure can’t remember mine…

I remember mine and it doesn’t work. Is this website even active anymore. Last news I see, is from 2005. I have a hard copy list of the medications. Any suggestions?
