Should I Wait Longer?!

I had my first laser session for back, shoulders and arms.
Im a male type 3 skin using a gentlelase laser at 18mm/20j settings. its been about 7 weeks and i booked my 2nd session appointment to do all these areas again in another week (so 8 weeks time) My problem is that all the hair has not grown back yet! Most of it has on my shoulders and upper back but my mid back is grown back in patches in line shapes and the rest looks likes its either pepper spots or hair about to grow. Should i wait till ALL hair is completely grown out in full again or is 8 weeks a long enough wait and ill be fine to go anyways?

You could probably wait a little longer than 8 weeks. I would see what happens by week 10 and then evaluate.

This is from the laser faq’s page:

  1. How many laser hair removal treatments do I need and spaced how far apart?

Most people need at least 6-8 initial treatments spaced 8-12 weeks apart to achieve a good clearance. This is because hair grows in three (3) phases. Several treatments are needed to target all hair in every growth phase. Approximately 8-12 weeks after every treatment, the next treatment is needed to eliminate the hairs that now came out of the dormant phase and are now active. After 6-8 treatments or so, patients should experience a considerable hair reduction.

Depending on hair type, skin type, area treated, and genetic factors, some clients may require additional treatments beyond these initial treatments. If you do experience shedding every time and it still seems like the treatments are not working after 6-8 treatments, you should look into possible underlying medical factors (see Question #15) that might be causing production of new hair.

Usually, treatments are spaced 8-12 weeks apart to start, and can gradually move to 10-16 weeks apart after the initial 2-3 treatments. Instead of following an arbitrary schedule, wait until you have experienced shedding of the treated hairs (should complete within 2-3.5 weeks) and see enough hair come in after the hair-free period to justify having another treatment. Spacing also depends on area treated as hair cycles vary on various body parts. For example, women’s faces usually require more frequent treatments, whereas backs and legs require less frequent treatments.
