Hello HairTell,
Ok, I guess it’s a simple question but I’ll throw a little back-story to explain my situation fully. I’m about to undergo the LHR treatment on my legs. I’m pale, have dark coarse hairs and I’m a guy. On my first consultation the laser lady spontaneously shaved off a bit of hair on my skin and treated the area with laser. Unfortunately, when she shaved off the hair she didn’t use any shaving gel nor was she delicate about it. Now I have a bit of a discolorated patch on my leg which seems to fade but it was just so irresponsible of her and demotivating for me to get such results on a first try.
Now, I went back there and the clinic was clearly concerned about the discolorated skin, they could not proceed with the first session since I had that damn visible mark, so they performed another test patch on me. Now this one didn’t have the same reults like the previous one, it healed within days. Why? Of course because I pre-shaved the skin myself and was super careful with it. Unfortunately, now I have lots of red razor bumps covering my legs. My skin is extremely sensitive and takes ages to heal. I have electrolysis performed on my arms as well and the skin regenerates morbidly slow. Will it be ok to proceed with the treatment if the skin on my legs has these bumps all over it? Or should I re-schedule the appointment and come back with my skin all clear? The problem would be the time for it to heal. It could take about 1 month to heal completely, not kidding.
No matter how new and expensive my razor is, no matter how much shaving foam/gel I put on my skin, no matter how much aloe vera gel I rub onto myself afterwards… I will get razor bumps. And essentially that’s one of the reasons I’m getting my legs lasered, so I can be free of hair and the annoying bumps.
All advice will be appreciated.
