Should a hair grow back once it's removed?

After one removal with electrolysis, should that particular hair never return again? Or is it normal for it to return, but just a bit thinner in diameter next time?

I keep hearing conflicting things! I’ve heard that each hair should be removed permanently the first time, and that new hairs should simply be ones that were invisible, under the skin at your last appointment. And I’ve also heard that each hair will probably need to be removed more than once, and that this should be expected. What would y’all say? Thanks!

Rather than repost…here is my response to your previous post.

A shorter answer is yes and no.

I believe most hairs are gone after the first treatment, providing that all conditions are perfect.

Sometimes a hair follicle needs a second (and even a third) treatment to be gone due to imperfect conditions. Imperfect conditions can include large diameter hairs, distortion from previous removal methods, and a poorly applied treatment by the electrologist.

I think it was another electrologist who posted here that telling the client “that each hair will probably need to be removed more than once” was an easier way to explain why treatments take so long than going into all the mysterious details of why it takes so long. Electrolysis is not a one-time answer to hair removal. Such a miracle does not exist.
