I don’t know why, but I just love Walnut Street in Philly. Sausage sandwiches, Rittenhouse Square, the rich end, east towards the Delaware or down Broadway towards Temple, the poor end, Independence Hall, The Liberty Bell, symposiums at Thomas Jefferson Medical College with it’s Samuel Gross Clinic heritage. Walnut is like all of America represented by one street. It’s so clearly etched in my mind.
