does anyone know why some people report shedding immediately following treatment vs the typical 2-3 weeks I’ve noticed most people have experienced?
There is rarely immediate shedding unless you’re talking about hair jumping out of the follicles DURING the treatment. Otherwise, yes, shedding LASTS 2-3 weeks, but it usually STARTS at around week 1 or 1.5.
can you explain in more detail what “jumping out of the follicles” would entail? Is it the the disabled hair? The whole thing or just partial? Like does the hair shaft “jump out” and the root and remaining part of the hair underneath the skin “shed”? Thanks for your response.
It’s hard to explain. You may need to have a test spot and see for yourself. During shedding, the root doesn’t shed. The hair slides out, but you won’t see a bulb on the end. And during the treatment, some hairs pop out of the follicles while being treated. Also, without any bulbs being visible. So those hairs are out right away and don’t shed later.
Thanks for the clarification!!!
The moisture in some follicles gets so hot that the hairs, shaft and root, are forced out because the heat is rising.
The root does shed. Any portion of the hair that is under the skin is the root. The bulb and sheath also shed, but because they are very moist, once the hair is heated with the laser, they fuse to the hair and are unrecognizable as such.
so would you say that if a person has more oily skin they would expreience this forced shedding then individuals with drier skin?
