Hi, I went for laser session on my bikini area a few days ago. The tech told me that iam a good candidate for laser coz I have coarse dark hair and fair skin. After my treatment, the coarse stubble is still there, when i tweeze the stubble, some of them come out without any resistance, but many of them still have a lot of resistance, it feels like that they were never treated. My concern is that are the ones have a lot of resistance ever going to shed in 3-4 weeks? are they really treated effectively? I thought the hairs that are treated effectively should be tweezed out effortlessly?
Shedding (without tweezing) normally occurs between 1.5 - 3.5 weeks. If it has only been a couple of days, most of the hair will stil be resistant, as it still has to “come loose”, in the simplest way.
After about a week since your treatment, trying gentley exfoliating the area, you can use a lofa, exfoliating gloves, exfoliating body wash and any other really. That helps the hairs to shed a lot, sped things up for me by about a week.
When you say these hairs won’t shed in 3 to 4 weeks, why are you worried about 3-4 weeks? Do you have another appointment booked for them.
Btw, as a side note, not every hair sheds. The vast majority do on the first treatment, but sometimes it takes a couple more to get complete hair free period.

Benji
Is fast shedding a sign of a more effective treatment? I’ve had IPL treatments on my back in the past and have now switched to GentleLase and have noticed much quicker/more complete shedding with GentleLase. EVERYTHING shed in 9-10 days with GentleLase as opposed to usually taking about 3 weeks with some missed spots with the IPL.
Sheeding is good. If it is fast, all the better.
