I just posted a topic on the fact that I’ve had laser treatment on my back and shoulders and noticed I got back acne following treatment. My other concern involves another problem I encountered with laser treatment.
A few days after treatment, the dead hairs would appear just beneath the surface of my skin and look kind of like 5 o’clock shadow. These dead hairs never seemed to shed until the hair began to regrow. The only way I could get rid of them was by pinching the skin around them with tweezers so the dead hair would pop through the surface. This was effective (and time consuming) but it left me with really red bumps wherever I used the tweezers that would last for about two weeks.
Is there a better method for shedding these dead hairs that won’t mark up my skin?
Thanks again.
This is called pepperspots. Run a search on the forum for detailed explanation. You can exfoliate to help them out.
To avoid breakouts, don’t sweat and keep the area clean and dry until the skin heals.
Yeah, I’ve tried exfoliating using those Bath & Bodyworks exfoliating gloves, but they’re really stubborn and never seem to go away. Anyway, thanks for the advice. Still not 100% sure if I’m going to try lasers again.
Some pepper spots just don’t shed easily and have to be burned off during the next treatment. In regards to after care, cold Aloe Vera gel is very good, if you go down the gym take a towel with you and wipe the benchs etc. remove any remaining sweat. Try to avoid carrying any heavy shoulder bags and other similar things for a couple of days after treamtent, I found that the rubbing sensation would irritate my skin a lot and of course keep the area clean and dry.
Just food for though really.

Benji
Yes, they will get burned off at the next treatment. This usually happens on areas where hairs are not as coarse and thick. I get this on my lower legs. They do go away or get burned off at the next treatment. Don’t worry too much.
