Shaving right before the laser session

Since my fist session (I got 7 so far) I’ve been advised to arrive shaved (1 or 2 days before) to the sessions.

I’ve never questioned this precisionist’s request because I know that shaving my both full legs would take some time, and time=money for her.

Well, after 7 sessions I still have some hair patches here and there… since I’ve taking the session with the same person, in the same room, with the same machine, I guess she will always miss the same spots (matter of technique I guess).

I am planning to come without shaving to the next session in order for her to appraise the situation and tackle the hairy areas accordingly.

Is there any problem with that? I mean shaving right after the session may affect the effectiveness?

The reason why we suppose to shave is because laser hair removal is based on heat, and when you heat the hair it melts and when it melts it drops on the skin and can cause a burn to you.
That is why if you try to do a treatment with a lot of hair it will be much more painful if it was shaved.

The general idea of people is that if there are patches left then that means the technician missed a spot, the truth is, even though it could be the case, the hair doesn’t grow in an even way so one area can grow faster than another. Usually what you will see is whole areas that grow faster, like if you look on the legs then areas with less fat (right on the bone) will be much more visible then other parts.

That is the whole idea about doing a series of treatments, you can’t catch everything in one treatments, not because it is impossible not to miss but whether, that the hair grows in cycles.

If your 7 treatments have been spaced properly, then all you hair should have been available at least once for treatment. If you are having obvious patches, definitely show the technician. She must see this to improve her technique. If she feels the hairs are too long, she can shave them. I’m sure she has an electric trimmer and can buzz through the hair quickly.
