Shaving after laser

I have found my answer on this forum, but I am asking anyway, because it has been 24 years since it has been answered.

I am currently attending laser facial hair removal every 3-4 weeks and I was told that I am not supposed to shave for 2 weeks after the procedure. The thing is I hate it, so I searched online if I could be able to see why. A thought came to my mind that the person giving me this advice has an incentive to make me see my hairs falling out due to marketing. The closest source to the statement I was able to find has said to avoid all forms of hair removal except shaving as shaving leaves the follicle intact. Could anyone here provide me with sources or expertize regarding this matter?
