several q's [meds + proactiv + FL]

Hi, I’m about to start college soon and I wanted to do something about my facial hair. I saw an endocrinologist and it turned out that I have higher levels than normal of androgen in my blood, so it’s likely that I will go on some kind of medication soon. I’m reading that it doesn’t reduce current facial hair, only body hair, so I still want to do electrolysis.

 • How does medication affect regrowth if I’m undergoing electrolysis? Should I wait a while to get used to the medication? Or should I do the electrolysis now before starting medication?

 • I’ve been using Proactiv, an acne medication, for about a year. My face has cleared up, but my skin is still pretty oily. Am I still going to be able to use Proactiv during electrolysis? It’s a pretty intense system: cleanser, toner, and lotion, twice a day. (altho I do get lazy and skip toner sometimes) How will salicylic (sp?) acid react with the electrolysis? Likewise, how will the after-care of electrolysis react with my oily skin and the salicylic acid? And I’m guessing since I have oily skin, I’m going to have pretty bad scarring Any way to combat this?

 • Any recommendations in the Tampa Bay (FL) area?

Thank you to anyone who can help me out!
