Settings on a GentleYag for latin/mediteranian

Hi just looking for some advice. Haveved surfed up and down this forum. I am doing my back, chest and shoulders. My first apointment they used 18mm spot size, 20J and I am not sure the pulse. Said it was a starting point. Also to come back in only 4 weeks.

Here are my questions, (GentleYag)

18 mm spot size, I read its best to keep it at that.
30 J heat (does that mean the 20J was for nothing?)
10ms or lower but best is 3ms??
4 weeks?? Should it be 6 weeks for best results??
Should they use some type of ink to guide the areas they treat??

Regards,

John

They don’t need to use ink to guide areas but you need to be really careful about where they work - you need to be aware of your own hair type and do not let them laser areas where the hair in that area is not thick and black enough to respond to laser, or you may end up with stimulated growth. Just rememeber the practitioner does not really care about that - they will do the whole area. It is up to you to tell them where exactly it needs to be.

It should be longer than 6 weeks for best results but only you can make the call. I used to tell my practitioner that I was super busy and couldn’t make an appointment at the time, and would wait until enough hair grew in that it was worth going for another appointment. Laser targets hair that is actively growing as it needs to be in the follicle at the time of treatment to be treated - thus the more hair, the better.

Thanks for the reply, the 4 weeks made me think something was up.
