how aggressive are these settings for both sessions? will it kill the follicle permanently or now?
It depends on your skin type (and even how dark within a certain type) and the coarseness and darkness of the hair.
5mm spot size seems quite small.
I’m type IV and was treated with a 12mm spot size. For my last arm treatment, I was treated with 40J/5ms. My last thigh treatment was also at 40J I believe but higher pulse width.
5mm is pretty worthless. Most clinics don’t even use it for hair removal. What machine is this? Lyra? I wouldn’t get treated with anything under 12mm if you have options. Most newer machines have a 12mm or 15mm or even an 18mm spot size.
Given that low spot size, those settings are low.
I will check actually! maybe I am wrong is 7 mm better? or 12 mm minimum??

CoolGlide is 10mm. Still very small, the larger the better like 15 or 18.
I would try to find machines with 12mm and larger spot sizes, if you have options. Under 10mm is pretty worthless.
