settings for genitals

My electrologist uses the following settings on her Fischer machine: intensity – 5 - 5.3; timer – 8.5 - 9.

We tried lower intensity, but the hairs won’t come out. Even with these settings often she has to shoot a hair 2-6 times. I have a few minor scars on the legs which do not bother me, but when we cleared 1/2 inch on the labia, the entire area was oozing for several days and now after it healed it’s scarred.
It’s hard to tell whether it will be permanent (I think so) or not because I heal slowly and each red spot (even on the legs) needs about 2-3 months to completely heal and fade.

My question is: what settings might be optimal for the genitals? Are those used on me are too high or adequate?

And another question: About 15-35% of the hairs on legs and bikini do grow back fast (within a week or two) and look like they were shaved or clipped; some are ingrown. I read on this forum that it might happen because of the undertreatment. I do not think that I am being undertreated because she doesn’t pluck (maybe less than 5% of hairs get plucked) and I see a permanent result, but still wondering why some of the hairs grow back so fast and look clipped and would like to know how to improve the situation.

Thank you!

A quality probe may be your answer and I would be happy to offer her free samples.

Thank you so much!

I can’t believe that I didn’t check your website earlier considering that I’ve been reading this forum for a couple of years. I could’ve saved my skin from an excessive damage I was receiving if knew about the IBP.

I decided to take a 4-5 weeks break from electrolysis to let my skin heal. I’ll post a comment after we try the Laurier IBP. But after reading about the concept and how does it make a difference, I have no doubt that my comfort and healing will be greatly improved.

Thanks again!

Jeannie17 - Do you know if your electrologist is using Thermolysis or Blend?

It is really important to stretch the skin as good as possible. Let the client help. Ideally, if the skin has been stretched perfectly, you might see the follicles ly nearly flat in the skin surface and You can even observe the epilation process.

If the skin is stretched well, the setting usually can be reduced a lot.

Of course, the Laurier IBP will help a lot in these treatment. But only if Yoy use some kind of flash or fast thermolysis - that’s the IBPs are optimized for.

Thermolysis

I usually help stretching when it gets very painful. I also always apply an ample amount of Recticare (5% lidocaine) 1.5 - 3 hours prior to the treatment and cover it with the plastic wrap.
Sometimes it works and it is almost painless, but sometimes truly unbearable despite of the stretching and anesthetic application.

It should be noted that stretching the skin means, stretching the skin VERTICALLY and not HORIZONTALLY.

Laurier, thank you very much again!

The probes are awesome and my discomfort along with the skin damage were greatly minimized. Healing time is shorter in about… 10-15 times (in comparison to wire needles).

dfahey, thank you for your great comment; I’ve noticed that vertical stretching is the way to go (in the past it was mostly horizontal).

Welcome to the world of the handmade electrolysis probe M’Lady. I’m glad we could help.
