I just began my first laser treatment today of my face tummy and bikini. I’ll be doing my legs soon. The person treating me told me to avoid use of self-tanners two weeks prior to my next appointment. My self-tanning cream is only visible on my skin for a week, sometimes even less and I was wondering if it would be alright to use about a week before. I’m very pale…
thanks
It’s okay I think. It is sort of dying the skin so you want as much of it to be gone as possible before treatment. If you look the same a week after stopping as you would a month after stopping then it’s fine.
I think you should avoid it since the color of your skin affects the process. Even though you say that the skin goes back to normal afterward, why risk having an ineffective treatment or causing damage to your skin because of the self-tanner.
You want your skin as pale as possible. If they said two weeks, then I would follow their advice.
There could be remnants in the skin even if it’s not visible to a naked eye. I would stay on the safe side and avoid it altogether throughout the course of treatments. You don’t want to end up with burns.
