so i took a 3 month break from electrolysis and then started using rosehip seed oil religiously in the last month. It could be the 3-month break PLUS adding rosehip into my routine (after a 2 months), but most of the dark spots on my forehead from electrolysis and acne from electrolysis has faded a fair amount. some have been more stubborn, but definitely not as bad as it used to be.
just wanted to thank board as i got the oil suggestions from a post and wanted to share my experience.
(fyi-i spot VERY easily and sometimes one normal pimple will leave a brown mark on me for half a year)
I was wondering how that was going for you. Thank you for keeping us updated! This will be helpful for some of us experiencing hyperpigmentation spots.
I think that may have been me? I’ve given some rho to at least 6 people and they have all been happy with the results. I also started a thread in another forum and so far the feedback is positive in regards to fading pigmentation caused by spots, ingrown hairs etc. One girl said she’s stopped wearing foundation and uses tinted moisturiser instead. For me, it keeps my skin moisturied and skin tone even.
It was you stoppit-thanks so much! While im sure TIME helped a lot as well, i went 2 months doing nothing and the 3rd month using the oil twice a day and it seemed to fade a lot faster in the 3rd month.
I was going to PM you about it chewy-but decided to post instead.
tho-some spots are still really stubborn and havent faded much, a good amount has and i am happy w/ that.
I have started treatments again since ive been back and so far, the reaction i used to get (lots of terrible breakouts) hasnt happened again…not sure if this is because my skin has rested or what…because im not doing anything different really.
Rosehip oil is a must for my clients, keeps the skin well hydrated as well as helping with healing, problem is the local health food shop in Oban(west coast of Scotland)is not good at stocking it, in sydney the oil was readily available even the news agent had it. As long as the oil is 100% it seems to do wonders.
I buy mine from naturallythinking.com - they are a local company (to me). Their lavender products are made from the local lavender, the rest is sourced but of very high quality. Since they are in the UK, shipping should not be too much.
100ml of oil is £6. I also buy my witch hazel hydrolat from here and other oils and floral waters. I also buy the glass bottles with pipette droppers to keep in the oil in for daily use. I actually use witch hazel and rosehip together. Since I like to use the oil before my moisturiser, so what I do is spray some witch hazel onto a cotton pad to dampen it and then drop one or two drops of rosehip on this dampened area. I then swipe this over my face. The witch hazel stops the oil being too greasy.
The Trilogy one is supposed to be good (for non UK people)but it’s very expensive in comparison.
Just wanted to say that after reading the reviews about rosehip oil, I decided to order some from the internet. It was a pretty fast delivery, as I only had to wait a day or two. I’ve been cleansing the area and using the rose hip oil at night and then when I wake up I cleanse the area again and use the rose hip oil underneath my makeup.
The one thing I hate about it is the smell, yuck! I’m getting used to it, though. And it doesn’t leave me smelling like it once I put it on my skin, so that is great!
The important thing that I wanted to say is I have noticed a pretty good improvement within just a couple of days of using it in this frequency. I still have hyperpigmentation spots, but they seem to be fading a bit faster. I still have a bit of a problem with red spots in areas where the hairs are trying to pop through. Looks a bit like folliculitis, but I’ve noticed that with using the oil, it has helped that issue a bit too. I think the biggest benefit is that it is keeping my skin better hydrated than when I would go without. Anyways, I’m going to continue using this for a while and see where it takes me! Thank you all for sharing your experiences with this. Very helpful!
