Roots bigger than opening

Hey everyone.

I went to my first electrolysis appointment today. I felt a lot of what seemed to be like a resistance/plucking feeling. When I asked her about this she said it was because the root of the hair was bigger than the opening, and that is what I was feeling. I did have a few that felt like they just slid out but most were like that.

Should I be concerned about this? Is this normal?

Just wondering because I’ve read that I shouldn’t feel any plucking at all.

If you felt exactly what you feel when you pluck an untreated hair, then it was bad, if not, then it was just like she said, large masses coming through small openings she did not blow a hole large enough to make them fall out, so you would have less healing post treatment.

What type of hair do you have? Fine/thick? how have you been removing the hair previously? have you heard any reviews/seen any pictures of their work? What is their training and background? Have you had consultations with others?

you shouldnt feel and tugging or resistance, when the bulb/root of the hair is larger than the opening of the follicle you usually hear a pop when the hair is removed.

It is hard to explain the difference between a pop and and a pluck, but I observe this personally. I have never heard a pop, but I think I have mild hearing loss due to loving my music turned up decibels beyond what is healthy. I love loud music!

When I worked on James’ beard, OMG! His banana hairs were poppers. The most beautiful root sheaths I have ever seen. If I had some formaldehyde on hand, I would have preserved them.
