Rio & armpits

Before my (horribly expensive) Rio home laser (that has made the hair on my face thicker and darker) goes in the bin, I just wondered if anyone could please tell me if it was likely ever to work on my armpits? I have dark hair and very pale skin, but this thing takes ages to cover small areas.

(am housebound, can’t get to salon)

When you say work on your armpits what do you mean? Like slow the hair down temporarily? It might but not sure. It won’t give you permanent results like a salon laser though no home laser is that powerful.

If you’re trying to get permanent removal out of this device, you should save your time and throw it in the trash now. The only home devices that have some potential for working are Tria and Silk’n.

And having owned both the Tria and Silk’n seriously find a way to do professional treatments or electrolysis it’s a huge waste of time. Only the Tria is an actual laser but the spot size is SO small with the weakest battery it’s really impractical. Silk’n at least plugs in but you have to change the bulbs all the time and it’s still only temporary.

thank you all, I’ll throw it away

You might want to try putting it on ebay vs throwing it out, Silk’n and TRia sell well on there so it should also. Just checked there’s a bunch on there. Worst case even $50 is better than nothing, that’s the price of almost a professional treatment

thank you edokid

Definitely ebay it! I sold my Tria for MORE than I bought it for, haha.

If you have money to spend, you could try the ultrasound hair removal machine. It’s fairly cheap compared to a laser, only 15k USD or so. However, i have yet to find out if it works or not.
