Request for new UNsuccess stories sticky thread?

Could we start an UNsuccess story thread and make it a sticky here so that new people coming to this sight can easily find everyone’s stories (not just the success ones)?

There is already a thread called Share Your Feelings where you discuss issues you’ve had with laser, electrolysis, or anything else, and why you may not have gotten the results you expected. For people who don’t care about the “why”, no thread would really be helpful.

It is one-sided and misleading to have only success stories posted in the “Laser Hair Removal” section as a sticky. “UNsuccess” stories don’t belong in the “Share Your Feelings” section any more than “success” stories do.

Unsuccess stories usually have a reason. For example, treating hair that is too fine for Laser or experiencing induced growth on an area where it is not recommended to have Laser.

As long as people are willing to be honest about their lack of success and list all the factors, including treatment settings, will it informative otherwise it doesn’t mean very much.

It’s true unfortunately, there’s no reason laser shouldn’t work if treated properly. As long as you’re the right skin type and treating the right type of hair, it will work.

So I could be banned for saying “laser hair removal does not ever work”, but you can make such a ridiculous claim as this? WOW!

Look, if someone grows new hair (as I did, if infact that was the cause of my hair density now being the same as it was after 10 laser sessions) then laser did not work. Sorry if you can’t understand that but take it from me, if that’s what happened I don’t consider laser to have been a possible option for “permanent” removal. What that may mean is that there is NO possibly permanent solution for me, but I can always hope that years down the road there will be a REAL permanent hair removal that destroys the supposed “dormant” follicles. When considering whether or not laser hair removal works for someone, please try to look at this from the side of the consumer. It doesn’t matter if it’s new hair or old hair for us. We don’t want hair on the treated areas. If hair return (for whatever reason), then the laser hair removal FAILED for us!

You won’t be banned for anything, in the other tread you were making up lies to someone telling them that 90% of their hair will grow back which is completely false and untrue. You’ve wasted enough of people’s time on this forum, why don’t you go back to your rock or something and get over it.

Carpet, why was that statement ridiculous?

As long as the right laser is used on the right skin type and the hair is of the right kind to absorb the energy, that follicle will be destroyed.

New growth, induced growth etc are all separate issues.

How about you explain why I achieved 95% hair removal on my bikini line after 3 treatments and that it has remained that way for year so far?
Are they just hibernating?

I’m sorry you are getting upset edokid. Is it because I’m not using wording/definitions to the benefit of the laser industry? Is it because I’m using practical, common, everyday language that would be most useful for conveying my idea about how effective laser was? If I see hair growing, I WILL call it regrowth just like any other consumer would. We don’t CARE if the hair is growing out of NEW follicles or follicles that were treated by laser.

Oh my. Carpet, you really astound me. There is nothing worse than an ill informed consumer - the kind you are referring to. People should educate themselves. That’s what this forum is for.

You SHOULD care. Both laser and electrolysis can only destroy follicles which have visible hair. Visible by the electrologist for electrolysis and “visible” by the Laser for LHR.

Anyway, too many people have wasted their time on this. You are upset that it didn’t work for you for whatever reasons and you don’t want to listen.

In my opinion, laser technicians should’ve warned of the huge chance of hair regrowth in the future (if they did not). And you had made the choice to risk your money or wait a few years for more developed your hair system.

Have you checked the history of Bryce? It should be posted on this thread.

The laser became hair thick in a hair little thinner, but the amount did not decrease.

Look, it’s really simple there’s 2 scenarios:

  1. You did laser, it worked and you were hair free and then your body produced new hair for whatever reason, medical condition, hormones, etc and now you have hair again which you would have had anyway regardless of doing laser or electrolysis.

  2. You did laser, the settings were either too low, or you’re not a good candidate for laser, therefore the treatments didn’t work. It worked enough that it stunned the hairs but now they’re back.

There’s several problems with the above. Low settings may result in the hairs only being temporarily stunned and then end up coming back, but NOT for 1 year. If you’re hair free for 6 months then that hair is dead and gone and any hair that comes back is new growth.

Why don’t you post pictures of yourself so we can actually see what’s going on? It’s pretty easy to tell if you’re a laser candidate with a simple photo. If you don’t want to provide one then there’s no reason we shouldn’t just assume that your hair is too light or too fine for laser and that it didn’t work.

Tell me this, in the year you were “hair free” just how hair free were you? Are we talking like smooth as if you just waxed?

Carpet- This forum is specifically to educate consumers, so yes, we do NOT like it when you try to dumb down facts or take on the viewpoint of an “ignorant consumer”. The whole reason we exist is not to promote any one option, but to promote knowledge about laser(and other options) and use of the correct information. So yes, we DO prefer you use accurate information, we prefer you give the facts and experiences, and let the masses make their OWN choices based on that info.

Giving facts instead of propaganda is a reasonable thing for us to do, so do not get upset that we act like adults and use the correct terms and definitions. There’s no problem sharing your story that you have hair again. We want that info here. But when you try to claim it’s a 100% FAILURE of the laser instead of a well-known limitation of laser that usually doesn’t interfere with satisfaction, you are being intentionally misleading.

The hairs that are treated properly are permanently removed. This justifies the term “permanent” by definition. You seem to be looking for something that treats dormant follicles as well. That would be great, but it doesn’t exist at the moment, and Laser never claimed to be that kind of procedure. The laser is hair removal, not “dormant follicle removal” and it’s nobody’s fault you assumed it was both. The claim “permanent hair reduction” indicates that all TREATED follicles which are candidates will no longer grow hair. That’s exactly what laser delivered, and any informed consumer will not expect more.

This is getting to an unreasonable point. James or Andrea need to step in.

Carpet, if you don’t care about WHY you have new growth and think you know all the answers already, you don’t really need this forum. If you’re looking for a forum to vent, I think you did that already in 5 threads you now created. Does it make you feel better? There are other ways to take out your anger and frustration. I suggest you start exploring them.

And yes, if you cannot be civil when discussing issues on the forum, you can be banned from using it. By signing up, you agree to terms and conditions.
