Repairing bent forceps...

I’m going through forceps fast than I think I should. How are people repairing misaligned, bent or dull forceps?

I found this online but I think the price is a little steep. http://www.tedpella.com/twzr-mis_html/twzr-acc.htm (repair kit at bottom of page)

I also recall that Prestige had an ad for someone who repairs tweezers tips.

There must be a way to do it myself, can anyone chime in with their DIY forceps fix?

Thank you!

You can use a Neds flat head forcep to straighten out bends and bumps and then use an Arkansas stone to sharpen the point.

That’s great thanks, but what is a Neds flat head forcep and where would I get one? I haven’t come across that brand name and an internet search didn’t turn up anything relevant.

I’ve never actually seen an arkansas stone (tried to order one several times but always sold out), and I wondered if a fine sand paper or emory board would work?

Thanks a bunch!

Try Texas Electrolysis Supply 800-626-6025. A Neds forcep has a wide flat head instead of points. An Arkansas stone will be much easier to work with than sandpaper as you might punch through the sandpaper while trying to sharpen the forceps. If you need detailed use instructions, please let us know.

Terrific,I’ll try them. Thank you.
